I have observed 3 visual bugs with the P-61:

 

1. Under the 'Upgrade' tab, the turret is listed as having 2 x 12.7mm M2, but it is actually 4 x 12.7mm (see picture below)

-- the model is displayed as having 4 guns in the turret, not 2

-- the damage-per-second of the turret is 128, which correlates to 4 x 12.7 mm, as indicated also on XP-58

--> change module description to 4 x 12.7 mm M2

 

2. P-61's turret does not appear to rotate in game to correlate with the direction it is firing.

--> allow turret movement (like Beaufighter, Beaufighter V, various bombers)

 

3. It is actually a P-61C as indicated by:

-- air brakes in wings

-- wide paddle props

-- large air scoops for turbo superchargers

--> change aircraft name to P-61C

Huh, mine says it has 1x 12.7mm M2 turret with 128 damage. I see one tracer for it as well.

True,
It should be named the P-61c,  the A nor B models couldn't go that fast.
Props and turbosuperchargers are also characteristic for P-61c.

The turret is indeed listed as 2x0.50, while visually you can clearly see it's a 4 gun turret, but the according DPS is that from a 2 gun turret (128dps)
I gues they pictured the 2 extra MG's only for show on this P-61.

I picked up on the Turret thing immediately and I'm glad i wasn't imagining it. 
The turret on the XP-58 Chain Lightning makes sense. Yes there are 4 guns but they are split up to have 2 of them set to shooting high and a different set of two to shoot low. 
And with one gunner to use the system the two turrets can only target one plane at a time. 
Combined together you have 2x AN/M2 that shoot in any direction that is 60 degrees off the center with as much as 50 degrees of elevation and depression behind the airplane.  

It behaves just like the turret on the A-26B Invader.  Except the Invader turret can rotate an extra 40 degrees off the centerline. And does the same damage two tier's lower.
(and historically each turret had its own operator so they could each track a separate target independently) 
Smells like [edited](because it is) but at least your Tier 8 Lightning gunner can still throw around critical hits and/or 30% damage reduction in all directions. 

Now lets look a t the Widow's one turret. 
Sure it turns 180 degrees off center with 50 degrees of elevation and 5 degrees of depression. 
So now it shoots like a Beaufighter V ... which is nice. Very Nice

That Doom Turret™ on the Beaufighter V uses 4x vickers .303 and does 128 dps. At Tier 5. Hence its name.

 

Of course the Widow is in tier 8 and AMerican so its turret uses 4x M2 freedom dispensers.  Yet somehow they also do 128 damage. 
That [edited]you thought you smelled in the Lightning is actually from the turret in the Widow.

Especially when the same turret on the B-29 does 240 dps. with 4x M3's.

Update 2.1.18 fixes visual bugs on P-61

The patch now has the text reading 4* 12.7mm, still same 128dps.

Turret traverses & elevates now.
