it would be very cool to have a +5% DAMAGE from guns with a blackout skin

you think that would sell?

Pull was ok+.  For the $60 I got:

$80 worth gold (several aircraft compensations however, I think I hit on 4 or 5 including the Tu-1).  I was getting short on gold anyway and figured I'd be the forum guinea pig on this one :)

$10 worth of premium time

115k in free XP

a bunch of experimental equipment and materials

6x pilots with 5 skill points (2x US, 2x Brit, 1x Jap, 1x USSR)

The pilots made the deal for me as I'd like to get active on the Brit/Jap/USSR lines; getting these guys trained to 8 using boosters is on my short list now.  The nice thing about starting at 5 skill points is I can put them in a tier 8 premium and not suffer much for it - and get them to 8 pretty quickly.  The 6 skill USSR pilot that's available in the November deals was running $28, so you do the math...

I noticed the following trends:

-Gyrfalcon crates dropped most of my free XP

-Hawk crates dropped the planes (for me, heavy gold compensation) and two pilots

-Magpie crates dropped considerably less of everything but for four pilots.

...and I did get a premium aircraft that I did not have - the tier III type 224 (tier III premiums are $6 range)

I think I'll take her out for a spin now...

Ty for posting your results on those crates :great:

I'm sure your post will help out a lot of players who were on the fence about possibly purchasing them.:coin:

Always good to know what might be (really) in the rather than what they posted to be possible.

Again...Ty...o7.......:honoring:

I agree.  OK+ is a very good description of the contents of the loot boxes, errrr, crates.

So, I'll run down the various things - stuff you can buy for money, and stuff that you can't buy.  I'll give the current US dollar value in the premium shop, or an estimated value.

So, I got a few premium planes.  Nothing new, so I got gold value.  I'll list them in Premium Shop value, or estimate if they are not currently available.

S-199 @ $18.61

XP-77 @ $10.00 (est.)

Me-209V4 @ $9.59

Fi-98 @ $4.60

LaGG-3(4) @ $7.70

Do-17 Z7 @ $6.00 (est.)

I-5 ShKAS @ $5.00 (est.)

I-7 @ $5.00 (est.)

I really enjoy my XP-77 and my S-199, so this would be a decent haul if I were just starting out.  The I-5 ShKAS is really good @ Tier II, and the LaGG is good fun at T4.

This adds up to $66.50.  So, the crates are paid for in premium planes already.

Premium Account Time, 20 days, $16.77.

6750 directly-awarded gold, @ $30.85

One each 5-skill German and Soviet pilots.  Estimating their value is hard, but a six-skill Soviet pilot was sold for over $30 recently, so I estimate that a conservative value for a 5-skill pilot is $17.00  Why?  Because I don't think I'd pay much more than that for a 5-skill guy, UNLESS it were a special pilot like one of the named ones available from time to time.  End result, $34.00 (est.)  Sidebar:  One could argue that this is in the realm of "can't buy for money", but these kinds of pilots are sometimes available for purchase in the premium shop[, so I have to allow for that.  IN GENERAL, pilot XP cannot be purchased with money.

Then, there was a BUNCH of gold consumables and equipment.  I won't break out their dollar value, because I didn't record every period for which the stuff was meant.  I got no regular consumables - only gold.  And all the equipment awarded was Stock Experimental.

75 Engine cooling

35 Pneumatic Control Assist

25 Fire Extinguishing System

55 Engine Restart

50 Secondary Control System

90 CO2 Inerting System

10 Anti-oxidizing Additive

60 Emergency Medical Kit

Period 2 Collimator Sight

Period 3 Gas Operated Action

Period 2 Polished Skin

Period 2 Turret Armor

Finally, the stuff you can't buy with money, at any time.  Now, there are those who argue that you can buy Free XP.  Yes, you can, but only if you've earned regular XP.  Somewhere, you have to earn some XP in game to buy FXP, so I don't count that as something you can buy outright.  From crates, you can get FXP, and in this case, I got a total of 50000 Free XP.

There there are salvage materials.  Only two ways to get materials - win them in-game, or try and spin the slot machine and get them in loot crates.

175 Airframe Elements

100 Mechanical Parts

75 Weapons Parts

58 Flight Instruments (was awarded a group of 33 - weird bug there.)

50 Heat-treated Parts

5 Radio Electronics

So, if you add it all up, I got slightly short of US$150 worth of stuff, and some FXP, and some salvage.

Only one package on offer? No good for people on lower gaming budgets. Or perhaps you don't want them on board...

I splurged for one set of crates:

17 days premium time

10,790 gold (2,790 compensation for three planes I already had)

25,000 Free XP

6 5 point pilots (1x German, 2x British, 1x Japanese, 1x US, 1x USSR)

Just under 500 assorted materials

A bunch of gold consumables and some experimental equipment

3 premium planes:    Tier III Type 224, Tier III TsKB-12bis, and Tier VIII Ho 229.

I figure the Ho 229 by itself just about equals the cost of the 30 crates.

Wow - you made a great profit! Congratulations!
The Horton is a great plane, but very hard to fly.
You only have 3 shots before the guns overheat. Considering your very fast attack speed, you only have a very narrow time window to aim at your target.
But when the powerful cannons hit, you do a lot of damage.
I have the Horton on the EU server and have not been able to deal with it yet. But there are some pilots who are very successful with it - unfortunately I am not (yet). Must probably go one evening with the flounder in the training room.  The Horton is probably like a heavy to fly.

I've been planning to learn to fly the Horton for a long time, but haven't started yet.
