I am currently running the unspec version.  Bomb is very powerful and you can get a 47 sec reload rate on it.  Very slow making it hard to get between sectors.  Guns are not strong.  But, it is maneuverable.  Thus, you can shoot down aircraft and maneuver between buildings and towers making it harder for some one to follow you.  Also, the bomb is very good for bomb trapping.

 

Thoughts?

Yes 60 sec base.  Strengthen Hardpoints (Ultimate) gets you to 47 seconds

Being it going to get pulled into a tier 5 or 6 battle, with its slow speed, weak guns and a only a 32 maneuverable rating, what do you really expect it to accomplish?

Other than being another plane to add to your collection, it's really useless.

You think they would have learned with the Russian Tier 5-6-7- IL line, the low & slow Gaa. are a thing of the past.

Yet they pump out another useless plane and put it up for sale, ( buy certificates ) to get it.

 You do have the option to grind away for it on the Grinding Event, but you still will have to buy a few certificates to complete it.

My Thoughts ?......Don't waste your time or money on this 1 is just not worth flying.....

Thanks I was waiting for the real truth.   I'm still grinding Dolittle Awards in my small fleet of tier 4 and tier 5 bombers for the Vampire.  Don't wanna waste my time going for this Stuka i would rarely ever fly.

 

I mean good luck if you are going for this plane!  I understand collector's and all that..

The bomb doesn't make sense even with its 47s reload, when your guns don't do sh*t. It shoots the ground targets with the same level of success as any light fighter does, which is inappropriate for a ground pounder. You can - more or less successfully - to shoot down a 4-unarmored-tents target. 6-unarmored-tents already are a problem to destroy in a single run over. Something containing armored buildings? Forget it ))

I have one shotted mining plant but bomb placement is key

That is with my 1102B pilot with the Demolition Expert skill.  It is currently not specc'd.  Therefore, you have no slot to carry Gold bombs.

Specialized version of D-5.  Reload down to 43 seconds.  Bomb damage increased to 10,560.

What is the implication of being unable to use forward gun ammo belt?

 

Just got mine and no one seem to bring this up. The gun can handle stuff but I don't think I've lit a single fire...

Veebat just did a YouTube review of the D-5. He equipped the sight in ultimate form and reassembled it to include fire starting.  You can do that.

You are at the mercy of whatever team you draw. This thing cannot carry & is a bit player. Guns are not good. I would rather have 4 sc250's than that one big bomb. (Unless the guns get some kind of major buff).

This exactly. I too would like to have a more commonly used bomb load and the ability to swap them out. I would also like the ability to use ground attacker ammo.

Currently after 209 battles in the Ju87 D-5 (24hours/24min)  I have a win rate of 50.7%. My game W/R is 55.14%.

It’s not an easy plane but it can can be effective. The bomb will take out one big target and the sector is 1/4-1/3 captured. Then you focus on tents and softened armoured targets. You can call in help for this. You need other GAA or bombers with you. It is good for capping air strips alone. It will single handed lay take out every soft target then a couple off ADA and the airbase is yours.

 

I was able to cap 4 sectors in both games I have played in it so far non spec. Top score both battles, one win one loss. I actually like this plane.
