influx of players doesn't mean MM will start behaving better.
At EU, recently there has been a great influx of humans, due to CIS-transfers.

MM seems now even more off the hook than before.
The matchups can be more crazy than ever.
It seems as MM is just dividing humans per side, without even taking notice of plane class. (already knew that skill and specialization were no valid mm-parameters)
It can now generate matchups of 3 human bombers vs 3 human multiroles...

Skill-based MM is asking for the impossible ; they can not  even have MM do plane-type matchmaking. Only PvE and PvP ...

For MM a GA equals a bomber, so you can end up in a battle with 2 or 3 human bombers on one team and 3 GA bots on the other. Defeat guaranteed. 

Some for fighters ; 3 heavies on one team and 3 multiroles/lights on the other. Waste of time to even start.

Or a combination ; one team with bombers AND heavies and the other team GA/lights. You can not even take out the bombers.

You do realize that if the map has an Airbase with a wrench, you can cap it and change to any plane in that tier level. 

So, if you feel you're at a definite disadvantage, you along with any number of your team members can switch things around to even things out

You might even consider switching planes to put the advantage back in your favor...

Spend a little less time blaming the MM  and and spend that time learning & understanding the game along with some of its simple rules.

When the goal is to get the most amount of humans in the least amount of time, you're going to get some stupid results.  With no account for specialization, or time in game, you get battles where you get SpiritFox, 12_inch_hawk and I in the battle on the same side, with predictable results.  Each of the three of us score less than 9000 PP, and the battle is over in 5-6 minutes.

 

Not even worth the effort.

They at times try to fill everyone's expectations in one simple flying game, and most of the time it works.

With the introduction of Bots & Events you no longer can think of this game in terms of " win & losses " 

In case you missed it, they did modify the Daily missions & removed most of the " Must win requirements "

Even the events are not tied to the must win also, as to allow players to accomplish them without putting pressure on the players, or the game,... to complete them.

So, if you are locked on a " Must Win " scenario for all battles, grab a wingman so that you Both know what you are exactly looking to accomplish. 

Try enjoying the game for what it was intended to accomplish.......... Fun & Enjoyment

I don’t disagree that the game can use some help.

 

Eliminating random MM is not it. By definition that would introduce biases in MM.

 

Why would anyone want a biased MM?

 

I can see that if a player totally sucks at the game and believes he or she deserves free wins for clicking the battle button.

I won’t support any company that operates that way and applaud WG for not watering down their games by handing out participation medals.

 

What might help is capital investment in the game by advertising, graphics upgrade, tech tree expansion etc. but that is entirely up to WG.

So I learned on this forum not to get upset with the MM.

But a better MM would not equate to free wins in my opinion, there would still be deserved defeats, only the unfair team lineup right at the start of the game would decrease.
