Lot of talk recently about possible new aircraft.  One of the most well known and prolific aircraft of WW2 was the Stuka.  How about a version with bombs.  Seems easily doable?

If you are going to have the Stuka wiith bombs then you need to add the Dauntless SBD.

it does seem easy but when it comes right down to it ... the only new to us plane models we get to see come from dev work that predates 2018.
Tech tree bombers were released. but apparently the dev team ran out of time or money or just game balanced the american bomber line into an unplayable corner and ran out the clock on their work contract.

And pretty much ever since then its nothing but new premiums for sale. as one old game file or another  gets a last minute polishing a cool skin and then dumped into the premium shop every fiscal quarter.

Because that is waaaaaaay more cost effective than  creating from whole cloth more plane lines. and models.
or for that matter second specialist variants for just the tech tree planes in the game.  when instead you can just make that plane be another premium. (P-38L)   

As for further development of Attacker lines ... that is hard to make playable when almost all ground attack aircraft for the mid tiers were simply obsolete airframes with underpowered engines that a country could not afford to throw away.
Historically they were given some ordnance mounts (making them even slower more underpowered and less agile) and relegated to only flying around in places with local air supremacy. or dedicated combat air patrols to protect them. 
What does that mean for us in game? 
That Stuka that you (and I ) want to see? The current tier 5 version is actually the fastest and most powerful version.  Try doing a nose dive. try escaping a cap zone afterwards.  and try dog fighting (between theoretical 1 or 2 thousand kilo bomb loads) with 2 7mm lmgs in a turret and one or two fixed 7mm lmg in the nose getting you a whopping 30 dps in tier 5. .  

and expect that sort of suffering from tier 3 (where that sort of stuff is almost survivable) all the way to tier 8 in some cases where prop driven monsters like the Bearcat or Devastator are finally caught up with other Multiroles flying in the same skys. Only to have the jets show up. 
And have that struggle in every nation in game. it "eventually" would get better in the high tiers. but who wants to play 7 crappy planes to get to use 2 good ones?

I would rather them just add a single sc250 bomb on the centerline of the tech tree stuka as a balance adjustment to make it competitive with the Russian GA's.  It still wouldn't be as good just more competitive.

 

Easy to add premiums would be things that are already in game like the HP 52 Hampden, Ju 52, and Fw 200 Condor.   They are all the bomber group bombers at low tier, so they are already coded.  The same goes for the tier 2 bot Russian GA that I can't remember the name of that is essentially the same as the Pegasus with a different name.  Copy and paste planes we don't already have copies of.

B-25H Mitchell

B-24 Liberator

P-63 kingcobra

CF-100 canuck

 

They aren't copy and paste but;

The king cobra is essentially just a tier 7 version of the P-39N-1 and fills the same niche as the Yak-3T

The CF-100 canuck is basically a tier 9 British premium version of the F-94D.  Only US and USSR have tier 9 premiums right now and there are no premiums with air to air rockets.  

 

They said no sea planes but the Catalina is amphibious with wheeled landing gear. It would make a good tier 4 premium US bomber.  Then the US would have bombers at all 3 periods

My thought was what existing in game aircraft could be upgraded to give us something that plays a bit different.  I do not believe we are going to see totally new aircraft models for some time.

Ju-88 was a night fighter. They could make it a heavy. Bf-109K was fastest 109, could make that a premium. All I can think of.

anybody know if the Anatov Masha will ever be available again? I totally missed it the last time it was ....

We already got that sorta.  It's just they put wings on it and called it a Potez.

 

But I agree, I think they missed an opportunity with the gas bags.  The ones in the game should be interactive and shooting at enemies attacking the base they are tethered to.  And able to be shot down too.

As a heavy fighter guy, the Me-609 sounds like fun.  I'd love to see the Westland Whirlwind (feels like a T5 plane), and the B-25H with that beeeeg mutha-effin' gun.  Can you imagine 75mm of ground pounding death?  Or, as a bomber pilot, getting insta-gibbed by a one-shot from that guy?  LOLOLOL

Fun factoid about the B-25H.  The concept started out as a field modification by the legendary Pappy Gun, who was looking for anti-shipping punch.  First time out, he actually managed to put a hole in a Japanese destroyer, but was disappointed when a 75mm (3") hit did very little damage to a warship.  The flight continued on to attack a Japanese airfield, where a transport plane was in the process of landing.   Pappy closed on the (already going down) plane and blew it to bits with a single cannon shot.  "Kill secured!"

 

Pappy Gunn was a heck of a character.  Gen. Kenney's book about him is a fun read.

With as much as WG wants us to spend money, I would appreciate some new NATIONS tech tree planes. Or, at least, Japanese bombers.
