Now please don't take this the wrong way, and all clans mentioned here are great clans with several outstanding players belong to them.

These active players in these clans mentioned bring top honors to their clans that they represent, along with the tags that they carry in battle.

But here seems to be the problem with the outdated " Clan Rating " on the ... " World of Warplanes Leader Board "

Definition of Active member: ....1 battle in last 30 days

Been watching this list for the last 6 months, used last months (July 2022) to post this but not much has really changed much,.....to support these ratings.

As you can see some of these clans are keeping 40 to 80% of their inactive members for Clan stat purposes, higher & better clan ratings.

Some new clans will never reach the top 10 list due to clans being padded with high rated pilots that haven't been here for years & have probably moved onto other games.

4 of the top 5 clans on this list, ...have a total of 347 members with only,....51  being active.

This is board is outdated, and unfair to any new clan looking to climb the ladder on the leader board,  it needs to be change to a fair process for all.

Why don't you start a tournament using challonge.com and see how many clans compete?

 

I'm not sure what you and the others are trying to measure that requires a leader board.  Leader in active players...really?

 

This game is so far from a "Esport" definition and way closer to "casual play of non-competitive pat-stadders that WG can milk $ selling paint and speschul pilots and unique aeroplanes". 

 

WG could have spent some resources modifying/cloning the training rooms to accommodate clan play or ladders or tournaments.

 

 They should just do what they did with the blog and the ask the devs thread.  And then create a new "ACTIVE CLANS IN WOWP BY PLAYERS BOARD"

While you are entirely correct, this has been talked about for years.

 

 

It is a ridiculous system and renders the clan rating system ludicrous.  They will NOT fix it.

Or add the ability to look at the clan ratings by date range (like the HOF).

 

I've been toying off and on with a way to get a better handle on the Clans rankings via the API focusing on 1 week at the time.  I'm using what appears to be a somewhat older Clan Rating formula (I say older because it's no longer on the web and references personal rating).   I'll post something later this week in the thread I have under clans for those who are interested.

 

But yes, since the current rankings page includes everything from the dawn of time, its not reflective of the current situation.

I can see dead people.  And they are littering the basements of these high scoring clans.  Fix it or get rid of it.  I no longer care which.  It is truly meaningless now.

Lower the bar to consume oxygen and play..... like the joke people make about business hiring requirements

 

i dunno man...they removed the online player feature for a reason so an active clan rating is just showing off the shame

 

Had to laugh the other day when someone asked me to join their clan cuz they had 5 members online which somehow makes their clan better

 

Wow !! 5 online is something to brag about...back when the game was good we'd be wondering where is everyone

Well crapif you are gonna call me out like that then i suppose i am compelled to respond.

The last time that someone decided to track who were the actual active clans and how well are they doing vs each other it went something like this 

If you are curious as to how it turned out ... it is like watching an endurance race that has been ongoing for the last 3 years. 
Everyone is going up, down in rankings, in large hops or small,  when they werent  breaking into or falling away from the ranking cut off (position 30). 
Quite a bit of churn when you think about it. Very exciting to watch.

Well except for two clans. Because In an endurance race the thing that matters the most is consistency over time. 
If you are looking for "the average Potato Clan" then its mine.
My clan managed to gain and then keep the thirteenth place in rankings. ​While doing absolutely no changes whatsoever to our clan wide "filthy casual" behavior. 
 For nearly the entire length of time that the tracking has been done, going on for 3 years now. In spite of the best; and worst, efforts of not just ourselves but other clans as well.

 The only other clan to do the same feat (just trade out "Fllthy Casual" for "Try Hardest")  is OWSS which did pretty much the same thing. Except its was with the Pole Position.

Well that really not true, the clan page does work. 

We took the position in our clan to dump our high stat inactive player a year ago, in groups of 5 a month and try to replace them with active players who wanted to fly.

We watched our clan rating bounce up and down +1...-1 at time, plus there was actual movement in both " avg. battle per day " along with movement in " avg. battle per clan member ".

But the problem seems to be that on the Wowp " CR ", clan rating column list,  it allows for inactive players (that are missing for 6 mo. to 2yrs, stats).  to be counted & include into their final rating number. 

As mentioned before, new clan putting together a group of members are at a great disadvantage trying climb into the top ten spots, because of this problem.

The  " CR ", clan rating column list, does work, but it is broken to its accuracy on the Clan Leader Scoreboard

Check the CR ratings again.  You will find them being carried over for players who went AWOL back when 2.0 dropped in, around 6 years ago.

I think Cobra was agreeing with you.   He was pointing out that R-A-W made a concerted effort to get rid of inactive players (they have the most active players of any large clan).

 

He also said "but it is broken to its accuracy on the Clan Leader Scoreboard", which is true.

 

The problem, IMO, with the current clan board is that the CR is an all time score, and there is no way to "slice" it into smaller chunks, like we can on the HOF (28 days, 7 days and 1 day).

We are in complete agreement on the major point.  Which is that the current clan rating is absurd, pointless, and very much in need of an update.  Which ain't gonna happen.

If you track your CR you will notice it never changes.  Never goes up or down.  It is stuck on the number you had when 2.0 dropped.

The CR does change - that's why I'm able to do the Active Clans Ranking list.   It doesn't change by much for most clans for all the reasons identified previously, but it does change.
