In your other thread about the chain lightning i spoke about how great it was for training the player and the pilots for use in P-38's.
It is in that same spirit that i tell you this plane is a great trainer for your Mustang pilots. The pilot skill set that favors a mustang (ABE, MM1, ADE, MM2, FF) really gets the most out of the planes engine and; more importantly, its gun layout.
Though it doesnt HAVE to be your Mustang drivers. Anyone with Marksman 1 or 2 will be enough.
On its own the Eagle's 10 Freedom Dispensers chew up the scenery much like the P-82's in tier 8. However the dispersal of the firepower across the wings makes it a bit less of a buzz saw. So that "accuracy when shooting at manuvering targets" buff comes in handy
It is however still enough to do the job and if you want to be particularly nasty about it you can get in a flight with another Eagle and tear through pretty much everything you see in less than a second when you focus your combined fire on one target. (except maybe a Spec B-29. that takes; like, 2 seconds ;)
For ground work the bombs are nice enough for what they do. getting that last little bit of a cap zone flipped with ground damage after you killed all the flying stuff.
However thats not the only way for it to do that. If you get the right bonus traits on gear you can have a reeeeallly good Fire starter build.
No bombs to drop and no bombers to shoot over an enemy mining plant that you really gotta capture?
No problem. This plane can set everything on fire no matter how big, tough and/or armored it is if you shoot at it long enough.
Other cap zones with softer stuff? they melt like butter.
And again working together with another Eagle means everything dies twice as fast or burns twice as often.
Is it worth the gold? its a cheaper version of either of the P-82's. Down tiered to tier 7. so you get what you pay for.

Fair warning. My success rate at speculative guesswork is on par with my WinRate. Hit or Miss.
I start on the right track and then sometimes make a weird left turn and get lost in the weeds ...
