friends from wowp  and the game the Supermarine Spitfire XVI , has a bug in the paint and with out the paint much more than a bug is a problem in the the plane in parts of the wing and others parts of the plane you can see a hole and the inner parts of the plane like it wheels so  i hope  you fix that soon , besides that the plane is great

Been awhile since I flew the friendly skies.

Purchased the plane this morning and took it for a spin.

WIN

good plane and overall performance.

Although my score was not what Iwas expecting it was at least 6K with 8 kills. No respawns.

Areial damage 1994.

Didn't help much that the map was the 2 CC, Mining, 2 garrison.

How many tokens are needed to buy it outright?  I usually fly th emissions and cert past the harder ones at the end, but I haven't been flying much lately and still want to have the plane for when I do choose to fly

US$52 worth of certs.  Not tokens.

200, IIRC.

yeah certs is what I meant.  I have over 1k tokens going to waste, and 11 certs from...some other mission I suppose.  52 bucks for a T7 light fighter is a bit high though.  Might have to risk it and keep my money in my pocket.  How long do we have to knock this out?

Don't see a big difference between the (tier 7) Supermarine Spitfire IX   ( in the British  tree )  vs  Supermarine Spitfire XVI  (special )

 ( stock ) Supermarine Spitfire XVI -Survivability-(+1), Altitude Performance ( +2 ), Airspeed (same), Maneuverability at 83 (+4).

Yea it's seems like a little bump up in the tier 7 spit, but not sure it's worth the grind or the $52.00 bucks.

A good, seasoned fighter pilot here on Wowp might like the little edge it offers in a dogfight, and just might think different.

From February 21 (03:20 PT / 06:20 ET) to March 21 (04:20 PT / 07:20 ET), complete a chain of 25 missions to receive the Supermarine Spitfire XVI and a decoration set (paint scheme, nose art, emblem) for your new warbird!"

I think you are a good pilot and should be able to handle the unpleasant missions with half the certifications. Then you only have to pay around 30$ and that is the comparable price for a T7 premium plane.

In addition, with all the missions you also get a number of other prizes, such as steel boxes and premium days, so in the end it would be a pretty good deal with the purchase of 100 certificates.

Thank you for the kind words.  I'm certainly /good/ enough to earn it.  Usually what I do is grind the missions and certificate past the "earn such and such medal" missions.  I haven't been playing much though lately, so the opportunity to complete missions is lower, so I was considering just throwing money at the problem.  52 bucks is a bit steep though, so we'll see how far I can get.  For the most part, Spitfires aren't the best of planes to fly at T7 so I am not super concerned and I /do/ have my Spit IX tricked out should I want a T7 turn fighter, but I'd like to add it to my collection.  Eventually it will end up in the store for more typical t7 fighter prices and I can look at getting it then if I miss out now.

That's how I see it, too.

I'm quite liking this airplane.  It's a strong dogfighter, and the way I have it set up, superior to my spec Spit IX in nearly all regards.  for 100m of altitude and 3kph cruise speed, I turn slightly better and have  massively superior roll rate.  It feels much smoother to fly and more responsive to controls.  It's still a turn-fighter in T7 with all of the baggage that goes along with it, but it's a lot of fun to fly.
