I want new planes, but I really don't care much about bombers.  I don't find the playstyle fun,  even though I own two of the three most OP bombers in the game.  If I never slapped another spacebar in the game, I wouldn't miss it, at all.

 

BUT, new content is life for the game.  So, if new American or German or Japaneses bombers help to drag more humans to play, OK.  Maybe I'll play the B-32 more to build XP for the new T8 American bomber.  

 

If new planes were to be added to the tech trees, I would be happy to see that.  Happier to see U.S. Bearcat line planes, or U.S. GAA planes, or Japanese GAA planes, or British bombers, or lower tier U.S. bombers...

 

But I like new content.  So, if it has to be bombers, fine.  I'd rather not, but will take what I can get.

 

Wanting new planes is not necessarily a binary condition.  Yes, new planes, but [insert preference here].

 

Indeed, it is OK to disagree.  Some folks use that as an excuse to be disagreeable,  which is unfortunate.

It's not more bombers or not.  The amount of bombers per battle, per side, (two), remains the same.  The selection of different bombers is what needs to be increased and that is very good for the game for the people that don't have the manual dexterity or fast reactions to play fighters.  Remember, this is not World of Fighter Planes, but World of Warplanes.

Exactly.  I don't care if it is new bombers, Italian planes, a Romanian fighter, or the Snoopy doghouse.  What we cannot have is new content limited, to bi-annual premiums.  WoT, albeit a much more lucrative title, has done well by introducing long grinds, for pilots and premium tanks as well as just releasing new tanks and even lines.  New content won't bring humans in droves.  But, it would at least keep people playing and maybe, MAYBE, bring in some new players (so that we can complain about sub-45% win rate people jacking up our games  ).

06/2019 -- Development Plans for World of Warplanes

 Specialists-2 Just like we announced earlier, the alternative configurations for several of the most celebrated aircraft of World War II will make their way into the game. Unlike the existing Specialist configurations, which are essentially top module sets with the maximum number of equipment slots, the Specialist-2 configurations will be quite different from the stock ones in modules. This is going to change the gameplay significantly for such aircraft. For example, a quick and maneuverable light aircraft can become a heavily armed fighter for securing air corridors or even a bomber interceptor.

 

^ this is a very important bit of news, in my opinion, and probably a major undertaking because it may radically alter the function of aircraft as we know it.  Imagine you are flying your bomber with peace of mind, and you observe an A7M on the horizon climbing towards you.  You lift your coffee so it doesn't spill before climbing up and away.  The A7M appears to have leveled out, but he's still approaching.  He's practically below you without a chance in the world, you laugh to yourself.  He fires some schrage-musik cannons and now you've spilled your coffee.  As your bomber descends in flames, and coffee soaks your flight jacket, you think to yourself, gosh, I really underestimated that A7M!  It must have been an A7M3-J!  I should have gone to work for Delta to fly the friendly skies.  Oh well // respawn

 

So, I think some patience is in order because if implemented, that feature is going to change the game in a major way and we're going to have to challenge old assumptions.  If you look at the duration of time between major iterations of the game, it does not seem unreasonable to me to be patient.

History project is far along and cleaned up considerably.  If there is anything you (yes, YOU!) remember, or think should be added (such as fan-made equipment calibration tutorials on youtube), or other news, glad to do it.  I've also highlighted some of the things that have been mentioned, but not yet implemented -- such as Albrecht Schneider (Me 410 unique pilot), Experimental Reinforced Airframe, Experimental Long Gun Barrels.

Anything from WW1 would be hopelessly outclassed even against the tier 1s we have. Those planes were delicate and SLOW.

WW1 fighters would be pretty awesome to see in the game, but they'd need their own dedicated game mode.

Thank you for the update.  However, I have included only information that can be substantiated with an actual/verifiable source (links provide, direct quotes, etc.).  Anything that is not verifiable is hearsay!

There are some big birthdays this year -- 25 for Wargaming and 10 for World of Warplanes.  What an opportunity to get flying wing bombers into the game!

If I wanted to use a second-rate controller, I would.

But this is not the game for joysticks, which is why the support for them is so bad.  Real flying games are what joysticks are for.

Clicking the LMB works, too, for bombers to drop bombs.

 

Slapping the spacebar for MRF/GAA/HF is perfectly acceptable.
