The Air Force, and I suspect, the Navy, are developing and testing drones that are capable of close formation flying.  The speed of computation and instrumentation combine to create a very precise and tight grouping.  We are obsolete and the First Law of Robotics will be rescinded.

I believe the humans are already at 18" wingtip to canopy? We definitely don't need any automation to get better than that, waste of time and money IMO.

Great video, thanks for the share, ACE.

 

I've seen them live about 5 times when I lived in Chicago at the Air & Water show. But seeing that video was very revealing. When you see them from the ground, you know they are close, but not THAT close!
