wow     #1 gets artwork      that is just shocking

this is noteworthy...    Individuals residing in Brazil, Hong Kong, Vietnam, or the province of Quebec (Canada) are NOT ELIGIBLE to win prizes in this Contest.

has there been 'issues' in the past with folks living in those countries?

Places from 1 to 15, 16 to 90 and 91 to 240 :)

A-and we fixed the wording. All in-game content will be available. It refers to NFT only: Players who live in Brazil, Hong Kong, Vietnam, or Quebec (Canada) are not eligible for receiving NFT.

Even for WeeGee, this is a weird contest.  The top 15 do get some Experimental Gunsights, tho.

Can someone explain  in simple English what this artwork is good for? Is it a hangar theme or something?

For those that don't know - SINCE WG DID NOT BOTHER TO EXPLAIN:  ETH Addresses are Ethereum accounts.  NFTs only exist as Ethereum cryptocurrency.  So to claim the ETF you have to register yet another online account if you so choose.

AND IF YOU DO SIGN UP -- I would suggest going through Ethereum's direct source to sign up for a wallet AND NOT a 3rd party solution that WG is pointing you to (likely for kickbacks that they are not disclosing):
Ethereum: https://ethereum.org/en/

Ethereum Wallet Information: https://ethereum.org/en/wallets/

In short -- an NFT is the equivalent of a skin for your plane - a digital accessory - an emoji ... that has had a unique identifier applied to it.

NFTs are a bunch of marketing hype.

NFTs are a madeup "thing". It is a different use of "blockchain" code; which is used in Crytocurrencies: Bitcoin/ Ethereum/Dogecoin etc ....
Except that NFTs ONLY EXIST as Ethereum cryptocurrency.  It was likely more of a marketing gimmick for the Ethereum elite to crank up the overall value of Ethereum to better compete against Bitcoin.

Essentially NFTs are digital images that are embedded into (Ethereum) blockchain code as a usignue code value.  Then because celebrities like Paris Hilton (not really a "celebrity") and Snoop Dogg and so on have generated NFTs, people witha  sh*t ton of cash buy them up as preceived "value" added to a lot of marketing hype -- the general public then thinks they are some mysterious valuable thing that rich people are touting.

ALSO - WG EXPLANATION has another flaw.  The uniqueness does not come from the signatrue or the person that generated the NFT.  Those can be copeid/spoofed/hacked or otherwise modifed. The uniqueness comes from the fact that it's embedded in a blockchain value.  As without that ANY digital asset can be copied - exactly - right down to signature/and who created it - that's how code works.  A Blockchain disrupts this by only allowing a unique identifier for the blockchain to the code represented by that object (NFT in this case).

Without the blockchain component and NFT is not an NFT and can be replicated constantly. Hence my analogy to digital game assets above like skins and emojis and stickers and whatever else.

AND an NFT for essentailly a dying game (WoWP) that WG does not push development or marketing for; where the playerbase is barely around or nonexistent; where WGs focus is more on WoWS and their mobile gaming space than the desktop fighter palnes - seems pointless.  Great a unique thing to "have" in your account.  But likely it will never be worth anything like what people read about values of NFTs being sold for currently elsewhere on the interwebs.

Odds are good that one of the decision making execs at WG has juumped on board the NFT/cryptocurrency (Ethereum) bandwagon and thinks their stock value will increase if they push the company into it as well.

Haven't seen a push for NFTs on WoWS yet. But theyr'e doing enough stupid garbage over there, that NFTs would get lost in the shuffle.

So let me see if I can get this right or am i just totally too old to understand this " what ever it is "

Wargaming wants me to create an EFT account to receive a NFT prize

An EFT account is an internet based holding " facility " much like " The Cloud " , " imgur " " wallet and so on.

The NFT will be an image that will be stored in the" EFT"  for you to go on the internet and look at ( provided you have internet access )

You retain all rights to the NFT and can do what you want with it. You can even sell it and retain all moneys

You can also hope that someone will not download the image ahead of time and use it for their own purposes.

Such as print on canvas and sell, print on mugs, T-shirts and so on. ( yes I know it is illegal )

Spoiler

Why would anyone bother with this? No in game goods, not even a plane skin. Log into some server to look at a picture? Why?

for us Brazilians it really is a shame not to be included to win the NFT, we are almost 100 Brazilians in our clan alone,
this would probably attract more players, we would be grateful if we were included, 07

NFT issues (and oh boy are they issues) aside ...

If your asking yourself  "whats the point?"
The top players that place in this are not doing it for the gunsights supply crates or gold (as nice as that is)
This is for bragging rights.:B

Think of it as the Fortune 800 for WoWp Players.

And sure you may not think of yourself as a player that is in the top 20. (maybe only 50 players do) But there is a real big field here all the way up to 800.
out of a thousands of active players.  So if you assert yourself and do your best you may be pleasantly surprised to find out that you are much better than you thought you would be.

And it can be  really useful.
When the forum game devolves into a "my winrate  beats :kamikaze: your win rate":izmena: epeen jousting contest.
You could simply  and whip out :P  something like a shiny Golden <capture points> Cup  :medal:
Maybe put it in your forum signature ...

An NFT is almost like a woodcut or a serigraph.

When an artist makes either of those, he generally says how big the series will be and the work of art will have a number engraved on it. So, if you bought a woodcut from Picasso way back then, and he said there were only going to be 200 of them, you trusted he'd break the mold after printing the 200th painting. NFTs work on the same principle. They are artwork or any non-funginble goods (hence the name, Non-funginble tokens) that are digitally signed by it's producer and that are guaranteed to be made only to certain extent. Given the way blockchains work, you can, with a certain degree of certainty, be assured of who made it and it'll keep a history of every owner it had after that.

So, what wargaming is giving is a work of art that may or may not appreciate in the future.

Good question! Laws/rules in other countries maybe?
