Having B-29c as a prem is of course a good thing. More planes, especially a period 3 American plane with a bombsight (don't ask) is always good. However, are we still getting another variant of it for the tech tree?

The original posts from Fall 2019 indicated that Tier VIII would be a Flying Wing.  Perhaps also Tier IX, but memory fails on that part.

blindfold said on the Discord that they're still working on the American bomber line and previously we were told the tier 8 would be the B-29. I don't think that's changed although it's possible since we also know that there's a YB-49 in the list somewhere so we could wind up with a YB-35 instead at tier 8. Alternatively, we get the B-29 but it upgrades to the B-54. 

 

Either way, the B-29C is supposed to be just the beginning

I reckon it'll be B-29 as the T8 with B-29D/B-50 as top config via Airframe & 2 Engine upgrades.

So B-29C would be ~=first engine upgrade without the airframe upgrade.

Probably a couple of turret upgrades too: Apparently early B-29s had only twin nose dorsal turret, there were several versions of tail-gunner & there is a gun aiming upgrade with change to B-50 that could give quicker turret traverse/aim.

Actually, was talking with Rei and I understand that someone managed to datamine the B-29 from the tech tree and the only difference is that it has a second bombload option with more powerful 500lb bombs.

 

Though how much of this is real is still open to question.

Sounds legit.  I use this site to see all the upcoming planes that are in the game client before they are released B-29 Superfortress : World of Warplanes : Bomber B-29 Superfortress - Info (gamemodels3d.com)  It has the b29 and the b29c so the tech tree one must be in the game client already for it to be listed on the site.

Couldn't take that Airfield off the Spit which is why I don't normally try to fight for airfields but I don't quite get how you guys lost the Plant.

We went off to do other things. I pushed to try to capture the Garrison and got killed by the enemy Tu-1. trikke tried to capture it but the enemy team kept respawning and defending it and our own bots kept dying so he couldn't take it and while that was happening the bombers respawned at the airfield and just blitzed the plant before I respawned.

We plan to introduce the B-29 to the tech tree as well.

But, I want the plane to be a premium plane!  Don't do that unless it can still be a premium plane?!

it'll be a different version, with only slight differences       like a B-29B       or a B-29G
