I have seen so much forum goodness and helpfulness lately that I have decided to share my expert knowledge on being a terribad.

 

So lo and behold, peasants, here are King aquabad’s tip for WoWP terribadness:

 

General Tip:

 

1. Never, ever, in your life, look at the forums for tips or advices. And I don’t mean asking for it, for we all know this is a snakepit. DO. NOT. EVEN. READ. IT.

I can tell you a couple of stories of forum badness. Once I was a great GA player, and I’ll tell you about GAing later, but like every GA player I went about my ways just shooting one rocket at each AA gun on a mine and guess what?! Suddenly I read here some terrible advice (probably from an IL20 driver such as myself) that perhaps I should use my rockets to kill the biggest target there and then use them bombs to kill another two armored targets… Bad advice, because it made my loss rate much lower.

 

2. Never search for the best way to play a plane. You know how some people think some planes should not try to turn fight, or some planes should try to keep a low altitude and defend a sector? Lies, all of it. Nevermind it all. Those people are not just good enough with those planes. Have a zero? Just chase that BF109Z all the way into the sky and everything will work out. True story.

 

3. Nevermind unfriendly tips from those reds who just beat you. Did you just try to outturn the guy in the A6M5 in a P40 5 times in a row and it didn’t work out a single time? Well, hax and cheats it was. If he tries to give you a tip afterwards, he’s just trying to improve his hackiness and cheatiness. Don’t listen to the guy and keep doing it over and over again. Maybe the 1000th time is the charm.

 

Turny fighter tippy tip:

 

4. The first thing you got to know about those turny things, like the zero, is they excel at two things: flying very high and attacking heavily defended ground targets. The true story is you thrive in AA and trying to kill those bombers.

 

5. Just keep on turning, and nevermind your environment or the minimap. Got twelve reds all around you? Focus on just one and just try to shoot that sumabitch down. That’ll work.

 

6. See that GA in that mine trying to capture it? The best way to help it is by trying to shoot the heaviest armoured target around and dying in the process. Not like it will hinder it a all. And if that stupid bastard doesn’t capture the sector because the counter reset? Well, he’s just hindering you. Continue doing what you were doing.

 

Bomy and zoomy tip:

 

7. So you’re flying the invincible and oh so mighty boomy and zoomy plane. Want to know a smart way to play it? See that very turny zero there? Just stick to his [edited]. If he tries to turn and succeeds? Just cut your throttle and try to turn with him. There is no better way to do it. Every. Time. Didn’t get him? It was either hax or gold rounds, obviously.

 

Finally, never let anyone tell you otherwise. The only reason you don’t win more, is because of haxes, game hates you, or whatever. Feel free to add more tips if you have them.

Love it.  

 

If flying a bomber ALWAYS run up to the red altitude before dropping any bombs.  And do not waste any skill points on them gunners.  Who needs them anyway?

 

Remember, that airfield should be your primary target each and every map!  You don't need no stinkin' Military bases, Mining Plants or CCs!  

always go after other planes in your bomber.  Takes the boredom out of dropping them bombs.

You got the A-26?  Its really a Ultra Heavy fighter with bombs that recycle every 21 seconds but go shoot down other heavies and bombers with the 6 pack in your nose.

The soviet bombers are great dogfighters. You should always fight heavies on them. Why should you ram? You are much more turny than him! And your guns are much better, also! Turrets? Who needs THEM?

ALWAYS kill between sectors.  If you don't go to a sector to take it, then reds will not follow you into it, therefore all reds will be in the middle with you and not capping.  If the reds do take a sector, that's SERVER BIAS and something needs to be done about it because I said so.  If you find yourself on your way to a sector anyway, LOOK for something to get your attention off said sector.

Always fly head to head to soviet multiroles. Especially on turnfigters. That way the dispersion will be worse. Remember, if you can't finish him in one pass, ram him. Or fly straight up, as OP mentioned before.

it's terraworse to be strafing the armored sections of a Plant (or other ground target) in a top-tier altitude fighter.  Me-109Bs are IDEAL for this task!

Always ping the least important sector, and ping it multiple times - the more you ping it, the more bots will be sent there, increasing the odds of securing and retaining control of the all important garrison.

Always always build your GAs for full speed. That way you can go between sectors faster. Also, you need to make them very turny. Bombs and rockets? Please, we're trying to maneuver! NEVER EVER try to cut flaps when you are shooting a ground target. Boost!

Pro Tip. Flights

 

If you want to do a Flight you MUST do it right.

And this is the correct way to do it.

This way you can have the maneuverability of tier 1 in a tier 5 battle!! its doesnt matter if you make 0 points with your tier 1 plane. Your job is to distract not to help at all in battle.

Had "that guy" twice yesterday.  Tier VII Spitfire, 15 hours in game.  Didn't break 2k points either game.  3 "name" players in red, and I've got this joker in blue. . . .

If you suck at a particular plane dont worry. Just burn your free xp to get past it to the next one in the line. Dont even bother unlocking those extra modules. 
All the numbers are biggest in tier ten.  Therefor you get much better DPS.
