Progressive is only good if you are bundling Tanks, Ships and Planes

As for the General, You have that by default. That is why you get a fixed plane 

when you get back to the hangar.

A new game mode?

 Other than the already special modes and events. 

WOWP has grown and left the nest. 

Now all that is left is to toss a few " Dad, can I have $50 for my electric bill " 

 " hey ,mom can you do my laundry this weekend " 

 Wife got mad can I sleep in my old room for the night. 

Kind of stuff at the game

There's plenty of stuff that could be done, but they aren't going to spend development dollars on a game that has a proven track record of not making much money.

Marketing is everything - if they had a 1/4 of the budget of WoT they would drive alot of new players to WoWp. Russian's may be good to avg developers but their marketing dept across all their platforms basically sucks. They also do a poor job of marketing across their VERY different servers, which is crazy to try and get your head around.

I am sorry, but I have to disagree with you. This game was not a marketting failure, but a project management failure. Back in 0.3.4 and 0.3.5, new players were coming in in droves, only to get away from the game. The same happened after launch. The thing is, players who start playing a game and give up because it' has become not fun will generally not come back to it, no matter how much money they pour in the marketting sink. Even if the game had the 1/4th of WoT budget, it would still face retention problems because it's an arcady flight game and has a much steeper learning curve than tanks and because it offers few incentives for people who endure the learning to stay. Most of the players I knew which got past the initial ownage and still left the game did so because there was no endgame content and no competitive content to keep them interested.

 

The only reason, IMHO, they had not to completly kill the game was the fact that it probably doesn't cost them that much to maintain, since it used to piggybacks off WoT server, and because there were probably enough people spending money on it to cover the marginal costs of maintaining it.

Well the world is a different place now versus 5-8 years ago or whenever you were referring to. WoT has the same issues of burnout like all arcade type games and not a very high percent of players care about clans or battlefront or whatever it is called since it is a casual game, especially on N/A..Maybe RU it is a bigger deal idk. They could do cross platform/game promo's with WoT, they could update it to HD, they could add a Season mode like WoT that doesn't require alot of investment, all this wouldn't take much to incorporate UNLESS the code would need a totally new engine to pull it off and Major Dev investment. If that is the case i can understand they don't want to pour millions into it but again this is RU based and hell if War Thunder can invest into land/sea/air with the much smaller budget then Wargaming and continue to be developed, getting better very year it just tells me Gaijin has a much better CEO running things since they are taking a forward looking approach and planning 5-10 years out.
