OK, so how do we skip missions and still get the pilots.

You can't skip combat missions during the marathon, it's mentioned in the article Bundles with the pilots will be available for direct purchase tomorrow.

Here is a quick mission overview for both pilots -- which may help if trying to complete both at same time, if that is possible:

 

/edit -- disregard, see mission requirements in-game (which are different than those posted in the news)

Today is the 16th and I still do not see any missions on how to obtain these pilots? I destroyed a few planes with rockets and got no confirmation of pilot progress?

Today is the 14th in most of the world.. 15th in other parts..

Thanks for the knowledge that we can still purchase PILOT BUNDLE. 

I currently just do not have time to fly as much as I would need to gain the pilots.

I am worried that you can buy *the opportunity* to get the pilots, and not the pilots directly.  IOW, you buy the op orders.

If that happens, I'll pass on both.

This will be time consuming as a chain.  I hope they offer an option to token through certain missions, that would help in spots.  That or make it a month long.  We all have lives, though the game is fun.

IKR...I keep telling my boss I need time off to play a WOWP event 

He keeps telling me to play AC Valhalla it is more stress relieving. 

Maybe I should take up surfing again.

Based on what blindfold said above - "Bundles with the pilots will be available for direct purchase tomorrow." - it sounds like you can directly buy the pilots as some sort of package if you don't want to grind the mission chain to get them.

 

I could be misunderstanding - it might be an op order bundle.

have we been able to buy tech tree planes in the past?       i'm too tired to think right now

per Grenoli here on .RU forum, the tasks cannot be completed at same time -- however, may be able to switch between the mission chains

Kozhedub medal would be the most RNG, but totally doable in a fast airplane. Next one imho is destroying 5 heavies in one battle - hunting certain type of airplane is kinda fun and boring at the same time. The rest of missions are simple grind, most are easily done on right airplane. Looking forward to the event.

Missions are free The Premium Shop will offer the pilots themselves so you can purchase them in case you have not enough time to complete the missions or for any other reason.

No, you have to choose one. However you can switch between the missions and your progress will be saved. It works pretty much like the Vampire and XP-55 missions: only one is active but you can switch between them.
