I've been working on specializing my P-38F, using the tactics for flying it that Corvus suggested to me on another thread. On yet another thread, someone mentioned that the nVidia GeForce Experience suite has a record feature. I finally remembered to try it out last night. This was my third and final battle for the night. I had previously earned Hero of The Skies and the McGuire Medal in game #2, so figured this would be a mediocre game for me, given my consistent inconsistency.
It wasn't. I focused on bombers and defending the Command Center for the most part, but walked away with Hero of the Skies and Mcguire again, plus Winged Legend and McCampbell (I would have earned the McCampbell in the previous battle as well, but the battle was a loss).
I've uploaded the recording to YouTube (no edits or comments). For those who are willing to take a peek, I'd appreciate feedback on what I did well, what I could do better and what I should not do again. Although it wasn't a factor in this game, and I was keeping an eye on captured blue vs red and points, I have a bad tendency to get fixated on one sector and ignore others, which has led to more than one loss.
I'm also trying to not get into turn fights with LFs (which rarely never ends well), which is why I let the A6M3 (exp.) live the second time I encountered him (plus there was a build up of red south of me, so "keep going north" seemed like a good idea).
I managed to make most of my kills over sectors. I did go after a couple of GAAs that were out of sector at the end (I was comfortable where we were on points), mainly because I was 99% sure I hadn't gotten any yet and wanted to increase my chance for the McCampbell.
I still need to work on using the weapon groupings more, but a majority of my kills I felt I was in a good spot and didn't think I needed to tap the 37mm, just let loose with everything.
As always, feedback is appreciated. Thanks.
