  • the visual design of the experimental equipment icon has been changed.

Thank goodness for that! I've been so concerned about the esthetics of that icon, to the point that it was distracting me and keeping me from playing the game. Thank you WoWP Devs. You folks went above and beyond! Compared to the updates in the other Titles, I get a warm gooey feeling at the distal end of my descending colon. Joy!

My guess is that this is how the handle slow leaks, like memory and file descriptors.

Yeah....I'm thinking the same thing.  Not the best way to address it - if that's the reason for the daily maintenance, it's nothing but a bandaid.   If the game is leaking memory, then the better course of action is to fix the reason the memory is leaking (i.e., the code).

But that takes time and money and is not something that will be realized as a positive impact to the bottom line (at least in the immediate or near future), so just like all other IT shops out there, internal improvements get de-prioritized over things that can have a more immediate return.  I've had this argument my entire IT career :)

I am happy, however, to see that they've done 2 "patches" in the 5 months or so I've been playing.   Hopefully this is a sign that the drout is ending?

Could be Windows itself ...  I remember having to reboot Windows servers to "cure" some performance problems.

So the Experimental Equipment got a little ribbon.

But the Hangar lighting is busted.

Winter event lighting was also busted but it seems to be worse in this hangar.

My hangar lighting works fine.  Check and Repair maybe?

I'm wondering when the holiday crates show up.

BTW, even though this Holiday Hangar appears to be a reuse of one from years past, I love it!

Just read your post. Glad I'm not the only one that is wondering what's up.

Wondering if WoWp has adopted the motto: Over promise and under deliver?

I do not know but all the Update news says is that the update will bring the Holidays Crates but no timeline for the start of that.

Nope same thing.

I guess its a Radeon 5 series driver thing then like how my Hurricane I & Ia lost their cockpit glass when I upgraded from my old RX480.

This is only hangar though, the in-battle is fine (Hurricane I/Ia cockpit glass is busted in both)

The graphics and lighting in the holiday hangar are certainly a little wonky.  The planes are a bit dark in the holiday hangar, but it was a bit dark in previous years as well.  But the bigger thing is that the graphics also looks more ye olde 16 bit than it usually does.  The trees have sharp outlines around the branches and look like fake plastic trees.  Not terrible, but not what I'm used to.

Happy to see the festive hanger!  I know they didn't give specifics but would be nice to know when and how the holiday crates will be available.  The new twin mustang sculpture was a nice detail also!

I get the feeling the crates will show up Christmas day.

And less Cold Peak, which I enthusiastically applaud.

I dislike that battle almost as much as I dislike Kola, the night level.   :sceptic:

The chance of getting to the Cold Peak: Cornerstone of Control map layout for Tier VI – IX aircraft has been decreased.

what was the problem with that particular Cold Peak map?     and why would it still be just fine for T10, then?

The main problem is that this map is too large for the mid-tiers aircraft taking into account their average speed, and it has 5 Garrisons layout. There were quite a lot of negative feedback on this map layout and we've taken it into account making the decision to decrease its chance.

makes sense      we fly that map often in SNL, precisely because of the 5 garrisons        LMG hates it because he has to drive cross-country in a GA

ah, he hates it for a bunch of reasons, all GA related

but it's great for all-bomber battles!

people, get your A-26s cleaned up and empty out the ashtrays      we're going to Control that Cornerstone in SNL this Saturday, beginning at 9:30 pm EST!
