I am LOVING the return of Bomber Escort.

The Madsons on the XP-36F are a bit tricky to use, could be interesting how they work on a heavy one tier up.   But it's an American heavy fighter, so I'm in!

Crap, I always went to summer school instead of summer camp, and ended up an awkward nerd as a result.  :(

Ok so Question regarding the final reward aspect of the F5F skyrocket:

Near the end of the listing of rewards in the in game client for the F5F missions, it shows about 6 to 7 Unique camos listed. Are those all for the F5F, or are those unique camos for other warbirds?

I saw certificates for sale. How many in total for the F5F? IS that known yet?

De-arse your bunks! Man the planes! The Fokkers are in sight! BAM ba LAMMM!

Also: J311yfish: " 'Seal clubbing' and 'head hunting' are an inseparable part of the competitive nature of the game, and both provide a valuable service."

I would hazard a guess that whatever the number of Certificates in the top bundle at the Premium Store is the number necessary.

it adds up to 140 certs        about 37 or 40-something cents apiece, i'm guessing

which would set a record for a dumb-looking cartoonish T5 plane         imagine being ordered to test-fly that ridiculous pile 'o bolts IRL     "No sir... YOU go fly it first"

but of course i'll try to get it, because i'm a sucker

140 certificates to bypass all the time consuming do it in order bologna.

Which comes out to about 1 hour at work

a quarter of the profit of an average size painting

not even 1% of your 401K

Not worth the trouble of using your wife's credit card and getting spanked:amazed:

Yes I am lazy and spent the $$

picking out the appropriate paddle now.

In 1941, Navy pilots tested the XF5F-1 in a fly-off against the Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane, Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, Bell P-39 Airacobra, Bell XFL Airabonita, Vought XF4U Corsair, Grumman F4F Wildcat, and Brewster F2A Buffalo.[4] LCDR Crommelin, in charge of the test, stated in a 1985 letter to George Skurla, Grumman president:

"for instance, I remember testing the XF5F against the XF4U on climb to the 10,000 foot level. I pulled away from the Corsair so fast I thought he was having engine trouble. The F5F was a carrier pilot's dream, as opposite rotating propellers eliminated all torque and you had no large engine up front to look around to see the LSO (landing signal officer) ... The analysis of all the data definitely favored the F5F, and the Spitfire came in a distant second. ... ADM Towers told me that securing spare parts ... and other particulars which compounded the difficulty of building the twin-engine fighter, had ruled out the Skyrocket and that the Bureau had settled on the Wildcat for mass production."[4]

HEy..all the extra paintschemes that come with that final bundle, are they for the F5F, or are they for other warbirds?

I checked on the other birds and no schemes

They are exclusively the F5F paint schemes :honoring:

Your guess is absolutely correct. You'll need 140 certificates to skip all the missions in the Op Order.

i flew it several battles today...    i like it!        but it's not a 'heavy', really      it's a twin engine MR

the guns just seemed light     two 23mms should pop more targets than my other new toy, the gorgeous Beau V, so i peeked under the sheets

F5F
Level 4
Autoaim angle 2
Dispersion angle 0.4
Overheat time 10        (two seconds longer)
Recoil dispersion 0
Firepower 79       (maybe 9% less?)
Rounds per minute 360     (6.0 per second)
Bullet fly distance 189
Bullet mass 0.1
Bullet speed 356
Caliber23

Beau V
Level 5
Autoaim angle 3         (is this better, or worse?)
Dispersion angle 0.4
Overheat time 8        (you would think the 23mms would overheat faster than the 20mms, but no)
Recoil dispersion 0
Firepower 90
Rounds per minute 400     (6.6 per second)
Bullet fly distance 189
Bullet mass 0.1
Bullet speed 444   (i would think that be noticeably better that the 356 of the Madsens, but maybe not much diff, in practice)
Caliber 20

my conclusion:   i guess they're similar-ish, but my scores were higher in the Beau V
