So some of my mates suggested an individual be promoted to Training Officer.  Well, there ain't no such position.

When I think about it, it would make a lot more sense than keeping the Quartermaster position.  That position has been useless for many years.

I understand IRL what quartermaster is.

You know, the guy in charge of training the Quarterbacks in football.

But I suppose you could also use them to train pilots.

After all, now days we can identify as anything.

This ain't football and Soccer doesn't have Quarterbacks.

Use your " Combat Officer " as trainers.

Back in the day, the Quartermaster actually had a function.  He could disburse from the treasury and allocate funds to the treasury.  That was about it.

Well, nowadays, it takes a ticket to actually put funds in the treasury.  It seems that, people being people, too many treasuries were being looted with the embezzler running off into the sunset.  For some odd reason, this made folks angry and when they get angry they flood support with tickets.

So here we are, a truly meaningless position.

That would be good. All I get is "git gud" and "L2P" but no one willing to do any training. However, if it's only for USMIL clan members then that won't help me none.

All I get in every battle is red human pilots wanting me dead. That's most discouraging and unfun.

Hmm... this must be an important position as the US military has a whole corp and school dedicated to this:

Quartermaster Corps

Since a quartermaster is in charge of logistics and supplies I'm not sure how that person would help in training rookie pilots to be able to fly, shoot, and strategy better.

The main problem with WoWP is that veteran pilots are in the habit of dropping into low tier battles to go seal clubbing on the new pilots. Do that on rookie pilots too often and it just leads to "I'm dying all the time... I quit this crap!".  Even after 7 months and 3K battles flown if I get flamed in a battle by an ace pilot too many times I feel like bailing to the next battle too (but not quitting permanently). Not being in a clan makes it harder to get better.

Well there certainly is a need for a Training Officer. I know in the beginning of WoWP everyone had to learn as they flew in enough battles. But after this much time (what is it now, 8 years?) those in the know should be helping new players get over the learning curve faster to avoid being lost (quit playing forever). WG has already made too many bad design changes and it has cost them a boatload of players. Those of us who are left should help new players to renew interest in this game so WG doesn't just let it die out from neglect.

Actually, there is need for a training officer.

The reason is one of the simplest in the book.

Any pilot with experience can teach a less skilled pilot how to play and win at this game.

The experienced pilot of any rank in a clan can voluntarily flight with anyone they chose ( or is it choose )

Provided they have a form of voice communication and the " student " is willing to listen.

I have had so many instructors and trainers in this game that I benefited from.

F16Skypilot

Skywhale

Patton

911

Yoda

Breezy

computit

TT

Betty

Arrow

Dreamer

The pilot that started the clan CLOWN can't remember his name.

and the list goes on

and all from various clans.

Personally, I would like to see an unofficial training clan, or group, Discord, or something, to hold training sessions. Don't ask me to do it, been there, it's not for me though I would attend.

A group of good to great pilots holding training sessions in training rooms or even in battles, having awards or certificates or something to recognize completion or acquiring, or just having been taught certain skills, would be fun to be a part of.  A pilot looking for a clan could actually produce his/her acquired certs as a part of a resume' of sorts.  New and newish pilots would be learning, comradery would ensue, clan ranks of trained pilots would grow, and complaining pilots would no longer have an excuse.
