I have played both planes and I simply don't understand why anyone would play the Hurricane Mk1a over the Bristol 146. They both have the same guns, rather the same speed, except the 146 will out turn the 1a all day long. So why would anyone play the Mk 1a over the Bristol 146?

To get the X2 or X3 for the day.

In turn you gain more free XP and pilot gets more XP.

That rat thur.  Without looking, I am thinking the 'Stangs' alt is higher, unsure.

Also, I am convinced in these seemingly identical planes, WG puts secret little differences in there somewhere that gives them a little diff personality, so to speak.

Don't have the Hurricane 1a, but unspecialized it gets 2 additional equipment slots and 2 more consumable slots than the Bristol 146. Specialized these advantages may mostly disappear, but that also carries the drawback of "Hey, look at me" wings.

i've never flown any of the hurricanes more than a couple times, except the llD    maybe 6 or 7 times            not a fan

but i loved the 146 so much             maybe the 1a carries bombs and/or rockets?             otherwise, i agree with you, Sink

146 = so fugly        and the iconic hurricanes are beautiful in the air          but that doesn't help          if looks could kill

Basically same as above: Bristol 146 is uuuuuuuuuugly & unknown.

Hurricane is chunkily beautiful & historically legendary.

Plus the Hurricane Ia is a Premium -> you can play dailies in it to help train up Pilots (including my best) & earn extra Silver while using it to complete Era I part of Token Missions.

I actually just rebuilt my Hurricane Ia equipment: now does 406km/h Cruise, 520 Boost with a 9.5s Turn (including pilot skills)

Thats +30km/h Cruise, +10 Boost, +10hitpoints & better acceleration from previous build, only cost 0.1s turn time & a bit of rollrate, tried it out & definitely gonna keep it.

C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas le SerB.

THAT !!

If I only played (imaginary) planes, just because they perform better, this game would become very boring (for me).

And I like the challenge. I also fly the Model 81, I-210, He 100 etc ...

Well, X2 or X3 for the day.. 296 planes in hanger.. How many can you fly in a day??. After I got about 45 planes I quit trying to collect all the X2 or X3 that I could.. I am about the wins anymore and keeping my average up.. And when the game is whacked out I don't play at all.

I enjoy trying to get top spot with the Model 81, I-210..etc.

The game is, after all, about the challenge not the easy pub stomp.

Although I do admit to spamming  the I-17 and Bristol 146 for tokens and missions.

Hurricane 1a is premium.

There's literally no reason to play most tech tree planes at low tier when you're done with them and have the option for the respective tiers' premiums...which aren't exactly hard to get with red boxes coughing up trickles of gold and the low tier premiums going half off isn't exactly a rare occurrence.

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

Well you just noted 4 of my favorite planes (i-17 pre-rocket nerf)

and that commander rear end kissing will not effect me seeing that a certain game is on sale and Losttwo said he is waiting for the sale...

Because you can mitigate a lot of the Hurricane Mk1a's standard weakness by placing an elite upper-tier pilot - whereas who would keep one of their better pilot's in a tier 4 Bristol?

Not to mention, the Bristol 146 is one of the ugliest planes in the game.
