So I recently noticed that my RB-17 is slower than it used to be.  I used to be able to get 546 MPH under boost at around 5000 feet.  Now it's 527 MPH even though the aircraft specifications in the hangar still says 546 MPH.

 

Stealth nerf?  Now I gotta check all my bombers.

Ju-287, check!  Speed dropped from 569 MPH at 7000 feet under boost to 558-559 MPH.

 

Hangar plane specs still claim 569 MPH, BTW.

EF 131, yep.  Speed under boost at 7000 ft dropped from 603 MPH to 590.  Spec still claims 603.

 

I'm starting to see a pattern here.

Pe-2 M-82 was a surprise.  Claimed boost speed at 3000 ft is 402 MPH.  Actual is 412-413 MPH.

 

So I am going to drop the nerf nomenclature and go with tweaked.  Unless more, rather than less, got reduced.

A-26B, another vote for tweaked.  Claimed 358 MPH, achieved 368 MPH at 3500 ft.

SB, tweaked.  Claimed boost 257 MPH, actual 267 MPH, 

 

I guess they ain't got around to tweaking the plane specs yet.

Ar-2, another 'tweak'.  Claimed boost speed 298 MPH, actual 304-5 MPH.

You can't fly faster than your max dive speed. It has always been this way.

 

For the last 3, make sure you aren't diving

Are your 'claimed' speeds taking into account Pilot skills & Equipment/Bonuses?

You are right!  But maybe they reduced the dive speed?  I don't know but I do know that, especially in the RB-17, I used to be able to go a lot faster.   And all speeds were checked in the flat.

When I say claimed speeds I mean what the hangar plane specification says.  It takes account of pilot skills and equipment builds.  You can check this by changing something and watching it adjust accordingly.

OK just checking you weren't using base specs/made changes you didn't notice like if you swapped out some equipment with a 1% top speed bonus for one with different bonus or a Pilot missing a key skill.

Yep, I play with the builds sometimes.  After reflection, I realize that Hou is absolutely right about not being able to exceed the dive speed.  They HAVE reduced the dive speed!

No changes've been made to any aircraft since the last update including aircraft balance changes. Please check if you have the same equipment and pilots with their skiils. Also, please mind that the maximum diving speed cannot be exceeded in the game even if you have higher speed stats in the Hangar.

I used to be able to get up to right around 550 MPH in my RB-17.  If the dive speed hasn't changed, how is that possible?

 

It also leaves the discrepancy between plane specification boost speeds and actual FASTER boost speeds unanswered.  Dive speeds wouldn't affect that.

well if they say they didn't do anything to the game then the only other possibility is that they did something to the game engine and it required tweaks to the game but that never happened.
