four 20mms and six .303s for the tech tree version

two 20mms and NO .303s for the V gift version    and no bombs or rockets available      about 2% faster and 2% more maneuverable

seems...  a bit gimped        but hey, it's probably a fun plane         does it carry the 'turret of death'?     (edit: yes it does)

a bit gimp ?  with only an +10dps and +20 range

I think that is more than a bit gimp.

Sure it is a gift / premium that gives you 50% more experience in a dual spectrum of benefits.

I dust collectors dream but still WG you could have done better.

the 4 .303's are the turret.

'one skill pilot and gunner' seems low, for a dedicated mission      imo

good question      and, can we use a Euro plane that's been assigned to one of these required countries?

A premium beaufighter that forces you to run slick for better air2air performance  (which many players do anyway)
AND gets rid of Most of the guns you carry (which you werent using) and replaces the ones left over with upgraded versions.
Thus getting you the best power to weight ratio any premium Beaufighter will ever deserve to see.

And the fact that compared to other heavies in tier five it is actually competitive ...
is a better indication of just how Broken that tech tree B®eau(ken)fighter actually is.

Block Quote

But the GUNS tho.   Even YOU can see that Wylle

All things being equal this could have been worse.
They could have simply changed the tech tree so that in order to mount the doom turret you would loose the forward LMGs
a premium beaufighter that  looses the forward .303's but keeps the doom turret.  ... is actually historically accurate.
And you still get to keep the broken version.  So this isnt even a Pay to win scenario!

Block Quote

But the guns tho ... this is bu****it!

FIne lets just jump into it then.

Comparing stat blocks using WeeGee's Comparison tool i get the following
Spoiler

If you ARE the sort that makes the most of the forward .303's and/or appreciate its ordnance load out; dont get your hopes up.
At best Beaufighter V is a pretty; and historically accurate, hanger queen to collect. And occasionaly fly for a lark.
Which is its own sort of fun :great:
Or
it is a free hanger slot with an extra set of gear tuned for some other heavy fighter!

This must be the Iron Maiden branded beau that fell through?

Oh my ! i never thought of that.  Good guess!
Now i am sad. Putting Eddie in the turret o' Doom or cockpit ( why not Both)  Would have been worth the trouble.

Halloween would have been extra fun between flying with Russian Night Witches or British Spooky Scary Skeletons™

Either way it will still be worth the get.

It is a gift premium not for purchase ( yet )

You can now have 2 load out versions of a Beau.

Fast and Furious or Slow and bommy ( or would it be bomby. could be bombie )

Either way, might be fun.

Good point - - this permits you to have one Beau configured as a GA, and another configured as HF; and swappable in a match if both have crews.  Similar to Mosquito and Mosquito 26.

Also, there is a possibility that module slots available will be different (maybe).

i'll bet you're right     so it was going to be a must-have, with the Eddie pilot included           as it is now, it's a maybe-have

of course i'll try for it, because i'm a Beau lover       i think i have a UK pilot and gunner left from the pilot missions

i'm gonna miss the ten count 'em ten 303s     i swing the turrets around all the time

Looking at the list of requirements I'm thinking it's about 140 battles to do it.  This comes at a time where I'd really like to reduce my video game hours.  :/   If I think I can get the internet enough to do that many battles I'll have to carefully consider what I fly for each part, and how much to fly premium (credit income) planes or tech tree grinds.

Me too. I had the time in May; there are more important things I want to get done in June.

I'll probabaly try to pick it up.  I'd try to get it on EU, but that Soviet and US requirement is a killer.  I don't play there often so I am focusing on the RAF and dabbling with the 109 line.

USA: XP31; F11C-2; YP29; F2A-1; XF4F-3; Hawk 81A1; P38F; XFL; XF4U-1; P39N; XP55; P-47B; F4U1,4; P51H

UK: Goldfinch; Skua; Type 224; Wirraway; Bristol 146; Blenheim F; Fantome; Hurricane I, IId; Beaufighter; Boomerang; Venom; Spit I, Ia, XIV; Tornado; Mustang I, Ia; Seafang; Vampire |

 | Germany: FW56; AR67; BF109B, E, E-3, F, G; Me209v4; Spit V DB605, FW190A5   | Japan: Ki5, 61, 84; A6M1, 3, A7M; |

  ROC: Hawk II; Ki43c; Tomahawk IIb; P51K | EU: B534; S199 | VVS: LaGG 3(4); P40M105; Yak7M82, 1, 1M, 3; La5

First stage is 30 wins with at least 5000 points in a Brit plane.  That will be about 60 battles for me.

Second stage is 300 aerial kills with a Russkie plane.  I typically average about 8 per battle, but maybe I could do better in the right planes.  30-40 battles

Third stage is 300k personal points in a US plane.  US planes are not the easiest, so if I average around 7500 per battle that's 40 battles.

Could be as low as 110-120, but no way to know for sure.  I don't fly Spec'd meta-planes
