So I have been playing my Typhoon a bit lately and I like the plane.  Trouble is, it does not (for me) carry at all.  It keels planes and ground targets and caps very well.  But it just does not seem to move from place to place very well.

The slots open once you specialize seem tempting to get more out of the plane.  Is it worth it, or is it still a bit cumbersome even after specialization?  Again, I like it, I just don't seem to win battles when playing it.  Could simply be the curse of T7 which is why I have pulled so many pilots out of T7 planes so I am not tempted to play them.

What say you all?  Specialize, or dump?

Out of Tornado, Typhoon & Tempest I liked it least unspecialised.

But I arguably like it best of them once Specialised. (maybe [edited])

Here's my setup:

C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas le SerB.

Move over to Tempest, which is a much better plane

I shall use my aircraft and my skill to slightly inconvenience mine enemies.

Specializing MRF for me was a slow slog.  For whatever reason, they are about the slowest for me to specialize.  LFs first, HFs second, GAA third...

Anyway, I think that almost all the MRFs benefit from specialization.  Opening the remaining slots gives you flexibility to build the plane to suit your style more.  Some planes, you don't have much room to do anything too crazy, like the FW-190 line.  But the Brit MRF line you can do a speed build on, and still have a lot of flexibility for air combat.

Of course, the Typhoon is in a rough spot.  T7 is bad for everything, because it sees way too many T8 battles.  Like the Dora, the Typhoon just isn't very good against jet-powered anything.  Still, I am working on specialization for mine...

actually I lied, I don't think I specialized it before I sold it.  Either that or it never made it to my sig.

EDIT:  Nope, I didn't even elite it before sold it.

The Tiffy is a superb airplane once specialized mostly on the strength of its excellent controls, powerful engine, excellent firepower and heavy yet fast reloading ordnance. Its a plane that looks bad due to its hard stats but works surprisingly well with its soft stats.

Get is spec and slap aerodynamic pylons onto it so you can haul your load about faster. The ordnance reload is fast enough that you really don't notice the penalty.

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

Thanks for the responses.  I will likely specialize it just to see if I can get more out of it.  I do like the plane, but I think I lost 5 in a row on it yesterday.  It plays well, but I just don't clean up in it like I should.   More speed is certainly a must.

I specced all the brit multiroles, they are excellent planes that combine great range on their guns with decent speed. you dont need to be as cagey as you have to be with american multiroles, the cannons are much more forgiving.
If at first you don't succeed, give up loser, you suck. or man up, get better and win
