I'm wondering what you guys think the average population is at on this game during prime time?  I guess its more a question to those here before 2.0 who felt the slide from around 1-2k all the way down to 300ish.

I really don't even have a WAG, but I do know that I keep running into more and more strangers with every battle.

The only reason there is any population is because

the new Space Force is using WOWP to train pilots how to fight in Zero gravity.

We went from being able to man the U.S.Nimitz to Mark V Special Operations Boat.

Tier 4 is normally 4 humans per side on a good day.

Tier 10 is normally 1 vs 1.

So my best guess would be about 300 people at the most during peak hours.

That guess is based on the rotation that I rarely see the same person in match after match.

when I'm sober this guy speaks gibberish

I understand and agree with him 9 out of 10 times

I enjoy generic whipped cream cans

so... yeah

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

Gives you players coming from Steam.  What percentage that is to WG launcher players, is a guess.

Also anyones guess as to how many of these players are retained before they realize what's the point of playing or being in a clan on here other than roll call to show which clan is actively grinding, and playing the styats 2.0 game.

WoWPFE2PAN™ also suffers under the new draconianism management.

More like it's a potential Tanks' gold mine if you ask me, but I think even less people play Tanks AND Planes......

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

That is interesting...so perhaps its a bit better than 300 since there was 250 just from steam on the game in past 24-hrs.  I'd assume (but have no real knowledge) steam players represent the minority players.

Anecdotally, there have been a LOT of new players in the game of late, and I have seen a bunch of forum regulars on.  Maybe because the current WG missions require PP, so people are flying more?  That doesn't explain all the n00bs.  At least a few of those folks have purchased their way up at least one tree.  When you have a total of 110 battles, and you have a specialized FW-57?  Some combination of gold and games, I imagine...

In any case, I would love it if folks would at least learn how to play a particular new plane in the training room for a couple of flights before coming out and showing their "skills" in public. "This is my first battle in this plane" is something I have heard way too much lately.  I mean, I get it - you just got enough XP to move up the tree, and you want to start earning XP to buy modules, but DANG.  At least go someplace where you are not actively contributing to a red team win, hmmmm?

I lost a Tier IX battle today. I was in a Tier VIII  The only player on my team with a Tier IX managed to place #11.  I checked him out wondering how he could be that gawd-awful.  It seems he had just under 200 battles and he spent most of the game doing a ground pounder's role.  Did I mention he was in a light fighter?

Without buying a Gobling, how on God's green Earth do you get to T9 in 200 battles?

Please tell me this person did not buy a Gobling...

No, he was in a tech tree plane.  But I still remember the guy who did buy a Gobling with around 50 battles in the game and also did the ground pounder stuff.  For some reason I seem to be a dummy magnet and they almost always wind up on my team.

i was in a mixed T9-T10 battle with a goblin teammate. (map with 2 plants, missile base and 2 airfields)
I went straight to the nearby plant with my F-84F, so did the goblin, MG'íng ground targets at the plant, eventually crashing in an AA-position.
We almost got the plant, but thx to his crash, we were set back in capping it and by the time we got it, red team (with human EF-131 and XF-90) already capped their plant, the missile base and an airfield.
Continuing this battle seemed futile.

So, my original question stands - how do you get a T9 plane in 200 battles?  The XP requirement for the modules makes that pretty much impossible...

A vet in an alt account flying just one line, and buying  his way up when possible?
