Been flying the B-32 lately working on the personal points missions, and got to wondering what the next bomber offerings might be, and what their attributes would be.  Will the new bombers all be carpet bombers?  Did the US have and USSR style bombers? Jet engine powered? Guided bombs?  What will we probably see in the higher tiers for the US bomber line?

They announced last year the T8 will be the B-29 and gave vague hints at what the T9 and T10 ones will be,  I am thinking T9 and T10 could be the Northrop flying wings YB-35 and YB-49.  Just my guess.

----Boeing B-47 Stratojet these are all bomber that saw combat or where made around the time  Korean war

In my opinion, the next three planes should be the B-29, the B-50, and either the B-36 or B-47. The B-29 became the USAAC's main bomber instead of the B-32, so it makes sense that if the B-32 is Tier VII, the B-29 should be Tier VIII. The B-50 was a further development of the B-29, so it should be Tier IX.

@sandtiger, why would the B-52 come before the B-47?

I would see the the B-29 research modules would evolve it to the B-50 and not be another Tier altogether.  The B-47 could be a possibility.  Since the B-32 takes up most if not all the screen, I would not see the B-36 or the B-52 as an option.  Since Wargaming likes to throw experimental planes in the mix...I am still sticking that the Northrop wings will be T9 and T10 OR YB-35 T9 with research modules to upgrade to YB-49 and still be T9.  Maybe a possibility of the B-58 Hustler showing up????

Here is the paragraph from 6-6-19 News feed talking about the USA bomber line:

 

Following the German and USSR Heavies, by the end of 2019 you can expect to see the most peculiar bombers made in the US.  The first of them is the B-29 Superfortress, the pinnacle of the "Flying Fortress" design that appeared during WWII and was successfully developed for years.  We aren't disclosing the top two models yet.  Suffice to say they are not your regular aircraft, although they did indeed existed and flew in real life.  We believe the aviation history enthusiasts will easily guess what were talking about.

So what weird bombers could the devs have been talking about besides the ones mentioned?  Or are the ones mentioned the ones?

The B-52 is still flying well after the Korean War... there, I fixed it for you. The B-52 wasn't in service until '55, almost 2 years after the Korean War ended.

We know that the B-29 is tier 8 and as speculated will likely upgrade into the B-50. The YB-49 is basically confirmed but no one really knows if it will be tier 9 or 10. The argument is that Persha has been insistant on there being no prop planes at tier 9 so the YB-35 isn't likely unless its some hybrid of the YB-49 with the YB-35's turret layout (20 x freedom cal. is going to be hilarious if so). Tier 10 is completely unknown and speculation kinda ranges from some upgraded version of the YB-49, the B-47 or the B-52.

 

All that has been hinted is that they will be "unlike anything we've seen before".

I worked B-52's from 1966 til 1976 as an Electronic Warfare Repairman.  B-52C, B-52 D, B-52G, and B-52H were all the models I spent extensive time on.  I have a big soft spot for them that I don't have for the F-15 or the EF-111 which I worked on later.

 

I wonder, how many drones can a B-52 carry?

I take it this would explain your love of Bombers in the game?  Did you ever get to go up in a BUFF...aka Big Ugly Fat F***er or the the clean version Big Ugly Fat Fellow (both names said with affection)?
