Right now the only plane that I have a G-suit on is Vampire, and I'm not entirely sure about it.

From its description, it "feels" that it should be mounted to a plane whose turning time matters, and have a fast speed.

Therefore I mounted it on the jet light fighter, i.e. Vampire. (If this works maybe next time I'll fit it to Attacker).

But obviously, I could be dead wrong and perhaps this could be a bad choice.

I really don't know but my best guess would be a high flying, high turn rate type.

And probably very fast.

The G-Suit is largely intended for planes that spend the majority of their time above their optimum speed. At this time, I have it on my Javelin and J21RB - my Javelin because I have noticed that I'm usually flying in the high orange zone 70 - 80% of the time and the J21RB because it has a very low optimum speed but a high maximum so you basically wind up in the yellow as soon as you hit the boost.

Planes which are really fast but don't seem to benefit from it - the B.V.P.212.03, MiG-15bis and Hawker Hunter. I actually slapped my first ever Ultimate GSuit onto my 212.03 since I knew it as a plane that really didn't want to slow down. But after several battles I also realized it was a plane that has a blazingly high optimum speed and you actually need to empty your boost just to keep above it. So the G-Suit was wasted on it.

I know some pilots use it specifically for the 0.5% bonus to turn you can roll on it but I feel that's a waste since you need to either be lucky enough to roll that bonus during enhancement or else throw away vast sums of resources to reassemble your equipment just to get it.

I am not an expert but I have it on all period 3 fighter of all types.  The advantage is higher celling, and tighter turns at high speed.  Like the F94D with the G-Suit it turns best at 400 MPH.

Just my input if it matters, but I could be wrong

I've been told the increase in ceiling is to your maximum altitude band, not your optimum (so your red band, not your yellow), which is a lot less useful

I'm using it on planes like P-80, La-160, F6U etc for better maneuverability and for hitting moving targets at high speed.

Only improved version so far, haven't used it on specced planes. Still experimenting, but I miss the crits and fires from the gyroscopic sight sometimes.

You are correct, but I fly in the red all the time with a number of planes without issue and as a result I can go higher

That was, very unfortunately, unforgettable.  Note to self, never look at a spoiler again.  But it's probably too late to save myself.

I really need to get round to experimenting with Gsuit.

Haven't put it on anything yet, partly because nothing seems to feel like it spends enough time going fast enough that its likely to be much use.

Even the Javelin doesn't seem to be really quick enough to want to turn much when its in Yellow speed.

Or I'm just not properly paying attention...

It helps me not pancake into solid objects which I consider and absolute win. The Javelin's guns are weird enough that reducing their dispersion can actually be a hindrance since your shots wind up going straight in that godawful wing pattern and the GSuit already has the same +5% autoaim bonus as the regular sights so on the balance I think its worth it. If I could just roll up that stupid +5% autoaim

Vampire F.1

Cruise speed 455 km/h

Max. optimum speed, 585 km/h

So it would seem that this aircraft does NOT really need a G-suit then?

Not for the G-Suit's base attributes. You can still take it for the bonuses to turn and max altitude (and the Vampire is one of those planes where a higher max alt might actually be useful) but as said, that's a very expensive exercise.

Yeah I think with the burst length of Vampire's 20 mils, perhaps a gun sight would be more effective in more situations.

I just tried one game, it seems that the only time a Vampire will be turning above optimum speed is the first turn into the battle (it will slow from ~700 km/h to below 585 in that first turn)

OK so what I may have been missing is that the Bonuses are active non-yellow speed.

So yeah that extra 1% turn & the 5% accuracy vs moving targets becomes pretty useful.

Also looks like less pilot resistance to injuries penalty than gunsight too.

And good point about Javelin guns.

So I guess I gotta sink some more Flight Instruments into teching one up & trying it out on some planes :izmena:

With the aid of the large number of 2hr Boosters from a while back, various Premium day crate bonuses & spamming sessions I've actually built up a healthy Silver bank at the moment, been sitting around 400-450 Tokens so not afraid to spend my way to the Bonuses I want.

(also lots of Equipment properly specced up already -> less need in future)

It was recommended by wiser pilots than I to use one in the XF-90 instead of a gunsight.   I've been using it that way, but I'm not exactly "skilled" in that skywhale to tell how much, if any, an improvement it makes.

I use one on my Do 335.  It works pretty well.
not that it normally should. A stock Do 335  will cruise along at 675 kph. and boosts out to 836 kph.
but doesnt loose agility until 819 kph.

I run it with a speed build. sooo i can boost up to and then cruise along at 846 kph.
and if i decide to do a dive from anywhere near that speed I will easily see 950 kph before i level off on the deck leaving bombs behind me.
And yet my maximum optimal speed for turning is still 819 kph.
Sooo that 18% extra manuverability at high speed means i can aim bombs easier and (more importantly) not become a lawn dart.

I also use a g suit on my Me 262.
That thing can maneuver at high speeds. up to 840 kph.
Yet when boosting it goes up to 956 kph. And 1000 kph in a dive.
And in spite of my turn build this plane is boosting and diving a lot.
Again ... the G suit and its 15-20% extra agility in those high speeds helps quite a lot.

Also the agility boost kicks in not only at high speeds but also the high altitudes that eventually lower overall max cruise speed until you stall out..
with that and the 10% additional max altitude means you can hop into a Swift and hammerhead a P.1101 ...  in a way that is usually reserved to Sabres and MiGs
(revenge for all those times your Spitfire mk whatever was B&Z'd by Bf 109's :teethhappy:)
