Lets not try to argue with others about this sensitive topic.
Let's just simply post our ideas of what we would like WG to change about Match Maker.
Lets keep it real and simple, You know like on the Dr. Seuss reading level so they understand.

The changes in Match Maker I would like to see.
I would like to see match maker stop having GAA and Bombers in the same matches.
Not knowing how many humans are, and what they are flying, our wishes may not be workable. I would like to see more humans against humans. When several of us count in, say 5 or 6, and only 3 are in the same battle, 2 are in a battle together, and one is solo, I wonder about the matchmaking.
I do understand balance must be kept to a degree, but I wish MM would look at match making more with the goal of more humans vs more humans.
I would also not like to be the lower tier most of the time.
De-arse your bunks! Man the planes! The Fokkers are in sight! BAM ba LAMMM!
J311yfish: " 'Seal clubbing' and 'head hunting' are an inseparable part of the competitive nature of the game, and both provide a valuable service."
"Fair" is a 4 letter "F" word.
1. Take into account Specialization and Equipment Level. These make a difference.
2. Match according to the highest tier plane in the flight, not the lowest. This is is being done and has always been done in both World of Tanks and World of Warships. Its done for a reason. I've said enough. This shouldn't be controversial.
3. Take into account player airplane types and the maps in rotation - especially at the high tiers, dumping a light fighter/multirole flight against an double spec EF131 flight on Alpine Gambit: Day of Reckoning is basically rigging the match in favor of the bombers.

But a truce to this mournful story
For death is a distant friend
So here's to a life of glory
And a laurel to crown each end
Block split-tier flights.
Or at least treat them as the highest of the two.
Always ensure equal number of players per-team.
If there is a flight on one team the other side always gets same tier players (eg a T7 flight should not be vs T6 players)
Different setups.
In this game we have a low tier setup of 2* GA, 2* Bomber, (up to 4* GA in low tiers) 2* Heavy, the rest MR & Light. (is the MR|Light ratio fixed?), always +/- 1 tier.
In WoT there are/were a bunch of setups with different ratios & tiers, I'd like to see some variety like that here.
Things like all MR matches, all GA, all Heavien Allies vs Axis, Soviet vs German, US vs Japan, Battle of Britain, Phoney War, Korean war, all planes same tier & occasional single plane matches eg all Spitfire I vs all Spitfire I.
Stop making GAA/bomber on one side and HF on the other.
Or more broadly, stop making some certain MM combinations.
I had a match in my Me 265 against a T8 HF yesterday, in a 2 factory map.
He immediately flew all the way to my spawn and start spawnkilling me.
Remember that's a GAA against a higher-tier HF. Your opponent is designed to defeat you first time, every time.
I was lucky, despite flying a specced HF he made poor choices, and Me 265 is arguably the single best GAA in terms of aerial combat capability.
So he came at me three times. I shot him down twice while inevitably got killed on the second encounter between those two kills (What do you expect? I was on minimum HP after the first encounter.)
And he quit after that, leaving his sole IL-8 teammate at our mercy.
In fact, since practically all fighters are designed to outclass GAAs, a more straight-to-the-point suggestion would be simply forbid GAA from fighting against any kind of human fighters same tier or above. (Maybe same tier Light Fighters can be allowed, just maybe. Many lower tier GAAs would still be meat to any fighters, even one tier lower, though)
Only that would actually prevent GAAs from simply becoming fighter food before performing any good to their team.
A more fundamental, once-and-for-all solution would be simply giving ground pounders their own exclusive game mode.
Fighter pilots don't want ground pounders in their game anyway (they want pure dogfight PVP, as evidently seen in many comments on this forum), so why bother giving this lose-lose situation?

REPORT HIM FOR UNFAIR PLAY.
I'm not even sure if you're serious....
First of all, that in-game reports are never effective.
And then, since HFs have one proficiency as "kill GAA and bombers" he would then argue this is not "unfair play".
I did report him for idle/bot after he left mid-game though.
Either way this doesn't solve the fundamental problem of ground pounders being fed to fighters who are designed to outclass them in aerial combat.
Back in my days in Ju 88P (no aerial combat capability, poor rear gun) I can only pray for the enemy plane to crash into me...

Yeah, I'm serious. They aren't very effective but that's no reason to refrain from bugging WeeGee with them.
Slamming on the brakes to make pursuers ram you or force them to turn off early is a good technique, I do it every day.
