I see I was "awarded" a couple different paint schemes for accomplishing missions (e.g., Ace of the Pack).  Are these paint schemes gifted like emblems are sometimes gifted? I can't find any paint schemes in the paint shops of any of my planes that would be free to apply.  All are offered for credits or gold.  If they're not free, why are they awarded?  Or what am I missing here? I see some "Special Paint Schemes" but they all cost credits....

Thanks for any info. (I was psyched to find 8 gifted emblems I didn't know I had!)

UPDATE (3/30/20): I had enough gift Emblems in my paint shop to affix one on every plane at no cost, thus adding 2% crew experience forever. I had NO free "paint schemes" or nose art. Apparently, when you are "awarded" a "Special Paint Scheme" or camo pattern, it just "unlocks" it, so you may choose to buy it with credits (temp) or gold (forever).

I'm pretty sure you won more Emblems - the game doesn't differentiate between emblems, nose art and camo in its descriptions. I don't think you have to buy skins you unlock unless you got plane specific camo out of a crate or something

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

Ace of the Pack is indeed an Emblem. https://worldofwarplanes.com/news/flight-school-mar-2020/

You can put it on any plane in your Hangar at 0 cost.

There are also Gifted nose art and Cammos mostly from events, they are specific to individual planes, sometimes on their own, other times they come with an earned plane.

Theres no easy way to find what plane specific ones you have earned other than checking when you buy a new plane.
