I gotta assume that they were were aiming at an ammo dump, because those explosions were massive!

those were practice shots at a small island.

 

The rocket body was made out of oil pipe-line pipe (11.5 inch) which conveniently allowed an existing 500 lb bomb to fit in for the warhead. 

 

I do so love them on the Pancake. . . .   (anti-shipping missiles INDEED!!!!  gimme those Albion and Micronesia maps!!!)
