I've been meaning to record some Horten games but honestly, it's actually a little boring to watch since most games are blowouts either way.
The Horten doesn't do well under pressure. It's a sniper and it's most terrifying when it can dictate the pace of the battle by assassinating targets from a distance and picking off individual airplanes before running off and doing it all over again. If it gets chased by a persistent individual or has to defend multiple caps simultaneously, it crumbles as it just doesn't have the heat cycles to keep up with a horde or the maneuverability and quick-draw reliability to deal with a skilled headhunter
***
But a truce to this mournful story
For death is a distant friend
So here's to a life of glory
And a laurel to crown each end

OK, so my first post got removed. Not cool. And there I was thinking I had a VALID point.....
The article seems to state that bundle bonuses like the 8 skillpoint pilot will NOT be awarded IF you already own the plane:
"If you purchase a bundle with an aircraft that you already have, you will receive all the items from this bundle except the Hangar slot, the crew, and the aircraft itself. Instead, you will be compensated with the following amount of gold:"
Am I missing something here, or are they denying players who spent good money $$$ on originals any chance of receiving an important competitive advantage over players who purchase these bundles now? I don't see any offer of us being able to purchase the 8 point pilot outright, so in effect that seems to disparage players who open their wallet too soon. Is this company trying to drive us away on purpose???
I'm hoping WG just accidentally failed to make it available to ALL of us who spend on this game.

Not going to lie, i've done this before too. Sometimes i can get a lucky hit early on though and save myself the hassle of needing to get a better angle. However, if i do about 2 of those annoying scissor turns and don't kill the plane, i cut my losses and either switch to a different target or distance myself from the target a bit before turning around. The Horton's guns sing if u give them the proper distance away from the target. too close or too far away often yields mixed results. u save yourself time in the long run if u just turn around and come back. Especially against ADA as they often just lose all agro on you and they become an easy target. Just a few tips to save yourself a minute of annoying maneuvers with bots

You do make sense. I know I will hesitate to buy early in the future.

Got my 8 skill point 209 pilot in mine... Does suck that they add this to bundles *after* you've done the grind to win it before hand tho'!
Usual bad form from Wargaming!

flew it twice yesterday, 4k both battles. thanks to Neblin, he was around to pick up my slack, both were wins
I read and reread Reito's helpful hints from his Premium reviews before both battles, ty Rei
whenever any red plane came near me, I burnt down rethinking my overoptimistic pledge now

Yeah I kinda caught that Sarge.
And that scissoring exercise in futility of mine was also a learning point of what not to try again, even though I have tried it again lol.
Scooting off and sniping is the way to go I guess.
Had some success doing that today.

Except for valid points, any post should also meet the forum rules, regarding used vocabulary at least.
As for pilots in any bundles, they always come as a bonus = won't appear on your account if you buy a bundle with the plane you already own. There are some technical limitations. Still, if you'd like to get that bundle you can sell your Horten in the game, receive extra credits and then buy a bundle — you'll get the Horten together with a pilot and other things listed in the bonus section. Please mind that Specialization progress will disappear if you do so. If you have already specialized your Horten, Specialist configuration will stay even after selling and re-purchasing it.

I immediately wanted one. I'm just glad for the opportunity to pick one up. My wallet couldn't justify 20 bucks for gold and a skin, but the 8 point pilot is a nice head start (not having to grind one up was nice, as I didn't have a good german premium to grind with, I suppose I do now...)

Thank you for the reply.
So if I am understanding the situation correctly, a supportive player who purchased the original plane has to sell it (basically turning the original $57 certificate price into 2.5 million silver or 6250 gold worth) and then repurchase the appropriate bundle (another $59 cash purchase for a $45 plane and $14 in gold) in order to get the "bonus" 8 skill point pilot and the "opportunity" to regrind all lost Specialist progress on the plane (if not completed)?
That sounds like it's an awfully harsh and expensive way to get what basically amounts to a $2 bonus pilot.....

If you like the Horten then you've had plenty of time since last year to grind a pilot. You should always use pilots from other tech tree planes on premiums anyway. 8 skill pilot on a prem plane/account would need about 10 hours which is no where near $50 worth of grinding to avoid. Plus, if you like the plane it's not a grind but enjoyment. <o
