only had time for one battle today, after moving my computer to a new desk at 3pm EST

T3 with four humans ran normally.

using HD graphics for the first time.    frame rate is identical-ish to SD client, how could that be possible?

same problem all in mid tier games, with more than 4 humans playing.

New hardware?

Depends on what the limiting factor is.

A lot of the time because there is something particular limiting frame rate you can turn on all sorts of eye candy that the GPU works on essentially for free while its waiting.

Thank you for your reports and sincere apologies for the bad experience you had during the weekends. We've contacted the team for some check-ups and identifying the reasons of this issue :honoring:

In general, I try not to complain about a free to play game.  After all, it's free, and often, you get what you pay for.

In this case, I will make an exception.  I make the exception because of all the plane type weeks, this one is the only one where I even have a chance of competing for some of the prizes.  Complaints of server problems were happening DAYS ago.  So, you all figured you'd wait until after the event was over to even look into it?

When will it be repaired?  Dont tell me, I already know.

SOON.

It's still happening, just had a battle in T8 where planes were jumping all over the place.  So it's not just the event.

In the past, they have denied, obfuscated and doubled down on "it's not our problem" until they realized it was their problem.

Given that the population is much lower since the event ended, it looks to again be an issue with their servers/ISP.

For those of you from the 1.X days, remember all the ping-plotter and other crud we had to submit for weeks on end until they fixed it?  Hoping that is not the case this time around.  With plenty of streaming evidence of this happening, you would think they would get on it, but who knows?  Beppo might be off on holiday this week, and with Mechislav hitting the bottle again, we might be in for a few weeks of this.

I didn't participate in the forums in those days.  If the ping sucked, I just logged off and got back on another day.  I do recall at least one stretch of a few weeks of crap ping, but I figured that in a F2P game sometimes you get the exact amount of value of what you paid for the game.  I guess this week, I will get the exact value for what I paid.  Maybe they don't want to give away those days of tokens and premium?

Ages ago there was a big issue with what we called "rubber banding" which was planes flying backward or warping into another direction while you were firing at them.  The current issue is very similar if not exactly that same problem.

IMO, I don't think it's WG messing with us.  I think it's a glitch in the ISPs they use or their servers and they don't have the wherewithal to fix it quickly.

For some reason it shows up in events (lack of resources) or we just all notice it more in events (possible ISP issues).  Or both.  Since the event is over and it is still happening, maybe it is more of a ISP issue.  And not on our side, it's somewhere in Eastern Europe most likely.

TLDR:  It's not you, it's them.

Seems to be a much longer than usual server reset tonight, still down as of just seconds ago.

Hopefully its fixing this.

I think I remember that the NA server is in Ashburn VA?       suburban DC?       I might have just dreamed that

If this is true, the problem is either WG code or is a hop /very/ close to WG.  I live in Alexandria, VA which is in the DC suburbs too, so there wouldn’t be many hops between me and them.

Played one game, went well, second game the planes jumped all over. Sure would be nice to take advantage of the x5. But alas, this is not possible.
