Several games into the session of token grinding and this happens.

I click battle and watch as the loading icon freezes on the hangar screen.

After 1 minute and no movement I try shaking the mouse, to no avail.

Game is frozen, mouse is locked out and I know this thing is going into battle.

 

I press the window key and slide the mouse over to " shut down "

Completely shut the computer off and wait about 1 minute before restart procedures.

Restart and wait 2 minutes for all my background stuff to load then 1 by 1 shut each process down.

Spotify, Adobe, Deviant art, and a couple other need to be shut down.

Turn on the gaming mode and click the WOWP gaming center icon.

 

For some ungodly reason I skipped the " repair and integrity" check and clicked " PLAY "

WOW to my surprise the entire hangar was skipped and I was placed straight into the Squall Line.

My team consisted of my J8M and a Human Bomber. versus human heavy and fighter.

You should send a ticket about this...

From my experience you usually don't need to restart your PC (unless it's really potato then maybe it's a time to get a new one)

I think Losttwo's computer predates the potato.

this has happen to me twice before, had to restart my computer each time. Is this something new to watch for?

It doesn't happen very often. This is only the second time in 4000+ games.

The only time I lock up now is network lag (which just boots me back to the game login screen) and if I alt-tab out to look at something else. That latter one seems to -really- bork up the game to be honest... I've got basically a 50/50 chance each time that I alt tab out that when I alt-tab back -in- that it will lock the computer so hard it won't let me pull up task manager. I can hit ctrl-alt-delete and get the option to open task manager, log out, etc. but if I try task manager it just goes back to a black screen and will not let me alt tab to the task manager. So, that means I have to hit log out, then sign back in.. wait for things like steam to load back up, then I can get back into the game.

If I had to estimate how often it happened to me, I would say once every 20 games or so.

roflmao... Yeah my old laptop did.

I got an new computer for my 2019 B-day.

It is one of those HP all in one touch screens thingy magigs.

It plays this game pretty well and records at the same time.

SUCKS for art but good for games.

The old lap top went to the pistol range, the last time my father and I were ever able to shoot together.

He passed in August.
 

SO the problems are certainly not computer related but INternet or WOWP related.

Then perhaps you should really send a support ticket.

and... maybe stop believing that network issues are just "disadvantages" and player skills can give you 100% win.
