I am looking for book or guides that I can read off-line that would give me tips on how to play and improve the game. Many items that I read seem to be for the older version of the game and not the v2.0.of the game. I see that a mag game out in 2014, but I'm guessing that is all old OBE info.

It seems like much info is here online, but I am not online and need to read offline at times.

HELP!

Cheers

Uh... I don't think you'll find any manuals or guidebooks lying around.

The best I can think of is to go to plane compare and download the comparative stats of the different planes relative to the ones you're flying. I know I used to have it loaded on my mobile browser at all times so I could memorize the numbers even while offline... Or refresh my memory before or during a battle (when there's no time to wait for the page to load)

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

It is really difficult to make a comprehensive guide for this game.

The tactics are different for the various planes and then toss in the cats... I mean bots.

Rule of thumb for me is not to worry about points just capture sectors for the win.

My experience is when I go for score and XP I tend to score high but lose the match.

But that is just me. Others can score high and still win matches.

Well you can read all the tactics … of all the different types of planes, of all the different tier levels of planes that we fly here on wowp. :B

That would put you close to 50% of knowledge, of knowing the game. ( a good start )

The other 25 % would be actual hands on flying and getting to know the strengths & weakness :izmena:of the plane your in.

The other 25% is..... Knowing Your Enemy .

Knowing his strengths & weakness  are just as important as knowing yours.

By knowing your enemy, :kamikaze: you can choose.... who to engage & how to engage him in a dogfight.

Take the time and get to know all the planes in your collection, compare them to each other.

Chances are your enemy might be flying them also, so get to know them by their stats.

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

Some things are simpler than they seem.

With fighters, you turn and burn, and you know who to turn and burn against and not to.

With heavy fighters, you boom and zoom, you do not turn and burn. Boom in, do as much damage as you can to planes, drop bombs on targets, fire rockets, and ZOOM outta there.  Escape the turnie burnies, turn around, repeat.  Use altitude, also.

I do not understand multi roles.  I guess you work the periphery I dunno.

Bombers bomb, mostly from the stratosphere as the safest way, some you learn to dive in and some have massive rear gunners.

Ground attack aircraft attacks stuff on the ground.

There you have an extremely basic tutorial.  It was mentioned above that 25% is hands on.  I think it is more like 50% hands on.

There ya have it!

Booze
