It recently came to me that they pay more attention to what we say than we realize.  They just aren't good at communicating about it.

 

For example, we used to carp a lot about how we couldn't complete our dailies during these events.  That changed.  I once suggested that the 3 day minimum waiting period for someone to join a clan after leaving another was a problem because it coincided with the 3 day clan invite cutoff.  That changed, too.  In neither case did they ever say anything about changing things.

 

There are probably several other instances of changes that I don't remember because it was just changed without any mention of it.  In my opinion, this is a mistake.  We usually go on and on about how they don't listen to anything we say or suggest.  We really only have this perception, wrong as it is, because they are not good at communicating.

They removed Gem of Game design and there was much rejoicing. On the Discord at least. I think people don't hate Decisive Blow quite as much since there hasn't been a similar campaign against it as much as we moan about its continued existence

Communication takes two to tango. Some of us are really bad at listening.
Or for that matter even reading the patch notes.

Actions speak louder than words has always been a maxim I've lived by. Every time they -do- take our suggestions and do something with them (I lobbied for the French to be movable, as an example of something else that happened that many of us suggested/lobbied for), they -are- communicating.. just as when they do -nothing- with them they are communicating. The U.S. playerbase just doesn't seem to understand non-verbal communication. Similarly, we've complained about their events.. if you note, these are all -way- more in line with what we've -practically- begged for.

I applaud WG, they -are- being responsive and communicating to us.. we just haven't learned to speak -their- language.

I am old and unobservant.  Visually oriented, I remember best what I see written down.  I still say it would do them and us a world of good if they would just mention these changes when they happen.

They often do, buried in patch notes. The thing they aren't good at is making a big deal about the changes.. which is how they win over the hearts and minds of players.

And sometimes they do the exact opposite of what we 'want' ... like nerfing GA while everybody complains they're too vulnerable.

I realized recently that they could have promoted the "Boosters" as listening to the customer base.  For a long time people asked to be able to buy just little parts of premium time since maybe they could not be on for several days in a row.  While not exactly premium time, the "Boosters" do still serve a very similar purpose and can be very helpful when you want to quickly upgrade a pilot or plane or both.  

 

While I certainly agree that actions speak louder than words, they could do with some "You asked for it, here it is" type of self-promotion.  

 

I mean, I get what they are doing, but I assume many people do not.  Which is why they should, IMO, promote it more.
