if the little wings we have now weren't intimidating enough to new folks... S2 is coming
maybe the little wings will change to red or gold?
is this what we need now, with the population this low?

do we have any hard information on specialist 2?
from my understanding the reason they cannot modify pre british MR planes in specialist configuration is that the work required to rework all the planes in the game is more than their staff can accomplish, in addition to creating new content.
I agree what others have stated, re-grinding specialist would not be enjoyable. unless the differences between S1 and S2 are enough to warrant a change. i.e. completely different modules

It seems like that would be handy if you know what map you are playing beforehand and could select your configuration based on that.

That would be handy now without S2

If that is the case then The thunderbolts and Butcher birds are going to be hard pressed to get this treatment, which IMO are arguably the two biggest groups that need this. Bad.
It would not make much sense for the hunter as it could potentially just turn into a redundant Swift. And regarding the staff problem - again - Lack of funding from WG.

But then i have been told by many sources that this game is [bad words] and that it is withering on the vine. Almost universally. Since it was released, Many years ago.
Yet the game; and it's naysayers, are still here.
Its far more likely that we will A) get to keep the current specialization builds and B) shown more stock module options to unlock with experience earned in game play in the usual way. (because why break what works?) and as a result gain a completely separate specialization to grind out and later purchase. thus allowing the player to switch between the two at the drop of a hat. (or even in the middle of a battle because your team capped that big airfield with the repair center.)
This is; of course, all blind speculation. Disclaimer in the Sig.

In my honest opinion, Specialist 2 is going to be a CENSORED of a CENSORED to balance with what all is on the table - let alone with what Desert786 mentioned earlier - this would be practically like ripping open the hood of the game's engine that they recently duct-taped and band-aided shut and then trying to install parts made with cobbled-together materials rather than materials they should be made out of. (would you put a radiator made out of wood, sponge, and a bottle cap or two in a car you plan on going across the coast-to-coast in?)
On one hand it could be very limited, and end up being kind of pointless (like the legionairy system they talked about ended up being for pilots like myself who have zero EU planes.) On the other it could wind up being a sprawling mess like with how equipment 2.0 started out as for the veterans. I will say again this would/could be a fantastic opportunity to make planes like butcher birds and thunderbolts carry substantial weight in the meta of the game again, but knowing our luck this will be missed. Again.

Oh No Wont someone think of the MultiRoles?
Jokes aside it changes not much of anything for them. And I DO agree that the Thuds and Focke'rs can certainly do with some love
However i am unconcerned about high altitude fighters stealing some MR thunder by trading some of that altitude for ordinance.
More than likely the light fighter players are gonna be gleeful about that firepower boost.
until they keep loosing air2air engagements with light fighters that kept to the old ways .
The lamentation will be long and loud.

1. I faceplanted through the A-1, flopped through the A-5 and slogged my way through two grinds on the D to get to the Ta 152 and the Batwings, not particularly enjoying much of it (but MAN was it worth it for the Ta 152). My stomach churns at the thought of struggling through the thunderbolts after the tier 6. It is no wonder bot 190s and bot P-47s / XP-72s are what I would call "One Pass - One Glass". (IE the bots are only able to get one good pass on you if you are in anything but a GA or Bomber and SOME heavy fighters, if they don't Blam you out of their air, they're usually immediately CENSORED. That should be evidence enough that there is something inherently wrong with them in the current game.)
2. Primarily in the form of some configuration that actually lets them not feel like flying bricks and actually be able to defend themselves rather than feel like Miniature GA's. Because why not since Corsairs can pretend to be cannon-armed mustangs.
3.
Get dat weeb thottery outta here before it becomes infectious!

1 The Way of the 190 is narrow. Treacherous and unforgiving. But not without reward. .
2. Honestly that is a good way to go about flying an ordinance truck. if you want something made with agility in mind that IS what British and USN MultiRoles are for
Speaking of Corsairs...
3. Fair enough! We shall intensify the forward batteries. We dont want any of that weeb thottery getting through ...
