Did another 10 battles in the Corsair, feeling hella burnt out but did get another 2 entries into my top 10 including the top score by 275pp.
Brings my top 10 average over 3000 and the cumulative over 110,000 so I think I'm done.

I have just been spamming the F-94 Starfire since the beginning of the event.
Specialized it, researched the next plane. Now going to spam it some more.
If anything I hope to at least get so many points accumulated I get the super secret prize of
" get a life medal, you play too much".
I think I am in the neighborhood of 40+ battles in it.
Just trying to win the 3 chevrons for this week.

Well I've done 10 battles in each of the 4 planes I have so I'm in for all categories.
Will probably run at least another 5 battles each to get some bad battles out of the average & incase it started later than I thought.
I thought you could only get in one of the rankings.
Just checking the event page to make sure. Found this under the note section: "You can not be in the winners list for two or more ratings simultaneously"
Edit: Just realized you're probably just trying to maximize your chance of getting a ranking in any period. Just ignore this post lol

Also his chance at the -highest- ranking, as they award what you ranked highest in. So let's say he manages to rank in 3.. but two of them are toenailed in and one is middle of the pack.. it's the middle of the pack one you'd get. Even if you're a top-20 player it would behoove a person to play in more than one category unless they're trying to capture the grind aspect.. and even then..

When did Wargaming ever do anything that makes sense.

I've always wondered why they pick the most complicated path.
Went into this event thinking I would give it a try and see how I do. Ended up playing 70 matches in the Spitfire XIV which was pretty difficult only playing one plane this entire weekend. The Spitfire was actually the only plane on the list that I had in my hanger. Depending on how well I do on this segment will determine how much effort I put into the remaining ones. I don't expect to be in the running to get the top prize but am hoping to score the JL-1A-37 or the Kostikov 302.
Will each of the 6 parts be set up in the same way or will they change up the planes and criteria to earn points?
Actually you can track your own progress easily by taking screen shots of the battle results and calculating what your own average is. You just wont know what other peoples averages are till they announce it. I'm not sure why they did it this way, they have live results in past events. But anyway, it is good to always keep track of your own stats. WG has proven unreliable in the past, and you can always follow up with a ticket, especially if you have the screen shots to back it up.
My best guess is that with the correct math stuff a simpleton could figure out population...
At least for that time period...
So, like Voldemort... we don't speak of low pops
Btw, dude gots no nose, wth is that sick shiz
The first battles of the Fall Campaign have ended! The best pilots have shown their best moves, and their mastery and perseverance will be marked with their well-deserved rewards. The supply team is on the way!
This time our event attracted so many skilled pilots that all places are taken, but do not be discouraged: new battles will bring some new heat! My warm congratulations to all participants and, of course, the winners! You proved your supremacy in the sky of World of Warplanes.

Though the first stage has ended, the Fall Campaign race continues! Results of the first stage (the number of collected chevrons) can be found in the article dedicated to the Campaign.
2nd on Period II Perseverance wow I really overshot my target
Only a couple of F4U-1 battles short of 1st even...
A huge gap back to 3rd.
Lots of familiar names from ingame & forum but also plenty I don't recognise so not just usual suspects getting rewards
Pleased to see my calculated score matches the WG calculation, I was feeling pretty sure I had started anything up to 24hrs early so played extra battles to be sure.
@Blindfold thanks for posting the scores too
By my calculations I've been excluded from top 20 for all the other categories, would have got:
18th in Period I Mastery with 20825
18th in Period I Perseverance with 32725
3rd in Period II Mastery with 30700 but my Beaufighter score of 17800 would have missed out
8th in Period III Mastery with 27875
13th in Period III Perseverance with 49675
For next event its clear I can rank with making a lot less of an effort.
Just the first 10 battles in F4U-1 and Spit XIV would have got me top 20 rank in 3 categories:
18th in Period II Mastery with 22025
14th in Period III Mastery and 19th in Period III Perseverance with 21650
