I will start with the P-40 paired with ... another P-40
the plane; by itself, is very good for what it does.
But the guns are juuuust a bit underpowered for getting kills.
But when they focus fire they tear through 'everything' that gets in front of them.
like Trogdor burn-erating all the peasants.
Even the tier 6 russian flying tanks.

and when they stick together ... getting behind one usually means the other is lining up to kill you.
(and unlike other light fighters they have the hit-point pool to survive this sort of rope-a-dope trick usually the purview of Heavy fighters.

[EDIT] Apparently this is an accurate descriptor of the F-86 as well.

Fair warning. My success rate at speculative guesswork is very hit or miss. Usually I start on the right track and then a make a weird left turn and get lost in the weeds ...
And yet it doesn't stop me from speculation.

I think premiums would be a pear of anguish

I like to pair my 190 A-5 with a Ki-102. The A-5 kills everything down low, the 102 kills everything up high. We can out-turn anything we cannot outrun and outrun anything we cannot out turn.

The Me410 is a suitable replacement for the 102 as well in that pairing. Other alternatives are the P-39N or Bf109F which can easily clear my tail if I run into someone when I'm out of boost.

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

The Me-410/FW190A-5 is a very good pairing.  You both can get where you're going in a hurry, and get stuff done once you get there.  You can easily clear one another's tails with vertical work and BnZ.

This go into HF+literally anything else real quick......

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

in the front canopy of the 57,

a Château Haut Brion with a Chateaubriand and curly fries

followed by some Turny plane

                              .

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

I prefer to start out with a sour ale followed by a stiff IPA and then a more citra-based IPA and finished with a not-too-sour fruity beer, but not a wheat beer, more like a Founder's Rubaeus or a Funkwerks Pineapple Provincial in a pinch.

While grinding in my Ki-84, all is right with the world...

And mind you, this is a summertime flight pairing.  Wintertime is a much different flight pairing.  Heavier stouts, IPAs,  American Ales, or a nice bourbon pair nicely with a heavy fighter for the winter months.

As for flight partners, I don't.  Hard to do laundry and ironing and whatnot when you have to play each game without 30 to 90 minute pauses.

Double F2G. Something a friend and I have been toying with tonight. Kinda a nasty lil combination to be honest.

Funny you mention that.
A thunderbolt built for speed and ordinance can keep pace with a Lightning built for turning and ordinance that is willing to fly a little low.
