The Doolittle Raid is shown in this movie - Will they finally add the B-25 Mitchell medium bomber?

As well Many Zero fighters are shown - Another premium Zero?

Will we finally have a Grumman Avengerin the game?

A Vought SB2U Vindicator?

A premium P40 Warhawk?

A premium B-17 since Pearl Harbor is also covered in this film?

A premium Wildcat?

What planes do you want to see if they do a Midway Movie event in WOWP like they did the for the Dunkirk movie?

Probably will be premium F4F and/or A6M2...possibly F2A...

Not that I caremuch for movies......

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

well if WeeGee had a licensing deal going on with the movie maker like they did for Fury then they could print a metric fuk-ton of monies with a Wildcat release.

People have been wanting one since Alpha. SO dont hold your breath.

Fair warning. My success rate at speculative guesswork is very hit or miss. Usually I start on the right track and then a make a weird left turn and get lost in the weeds ...
And yet it doesn't stop me from speculation.

At tier 4, they have the XF4F and the Model 81A, which both have the exact same stats, except guns.  So, since they have a tier 5 P-40, they could do a tier 5 F4F (just copy over the model from the XF4F and the stats from the P-40).

The F4F should be much slower than a P40.  I'd buy a legit F4F-3 which was actually fairly maneuverable, depending on how it was implemented.  If it flies like my XF4F-3 does though, no thanks.

here's the trailer.    Looks pretty good.     (except for dual Zeros flying down two-lane streets below tree top level)]

Here's USA Today's article

The trailer looks like 90% Pearl Harbor stuff, then about 10% Midway... but we'll see

not exactly sure why they tacked on the Doolittle raid, but hey, it was certainly dramatic enough to be included

I'll certainly go see it.    Wasn't Dunkirk about this time last year?     I remember that it was blistering hot in Raleigh that day

Do you think that Midway will attract more players?       at least a couple?

Are they going to bleep the slur Japs?

If it's half as good as Dunkirk it will be quite good.

I think it's going to be worse than the recent Pearl Harbor movie actually. There was nothing at all in the trailer other than CGI that showed that the story is actually compelling. At least they didn't hint at a garbage love triangle. But they are covering too much material. As well, the shots look sad. As mentioned Zeros don't shoot down civilians in the street below tree tops. Why? Because they are professionals who had specific targets and shooting nurses and civilians while going down to ground level was not the mission. Hollywood is obviously going bonkers again. I have little to no hope for the movie actually being good.

However, I DO have HOPE that WOWP will put in a good plane for us to use because of this certainly crap movie that is going to come out. Hopefully they will anyway.

Absolutely right, I was appalled to see that.

They're way below the trees, it had to be a high priority target to lure them down that low.    Two of them, ffs

This movie had Navy consultants.      where were they, when this lil scene was thrown in there?

but let's face facts...   fighter pilots were predictably the first class of pilots that would depart from the script

Yes see according to this account here: https://www.nps.gov/valr/learn/historyculture/civilian-casualties.htm

The American civilians who died were the ones who were attacked either in the air or at an air base. Why? Because the Japanese had very specific orders, mission time tables, and target plans. This was a carefully planned out attack. Not a free for all wild west shootout. As soon as I saw all the typical hollywood cgi total bullcrap that never happened at all I knew this movie was going to be garbage. But I still hope that WOWP puts in a Hellcat or something really cool. I hope they do some event with the movie and for the players. I just hope that they are smart enough to maintain a comfortable distance from the project as well since there is already a ton in there that never happened. It's not a historically accurate movie at all, not from what we can tell so far anyway.

Didn't WoWP introduce one of the Hurricanes as a movie tie in?  And maybe one of the Spitfires?  Good marketing.

I know that we got two planes for the Dunkirk movie. The Spitfire 1a and it comes with a free Dunkirk logo, and the BF 109 E-3 that also comes with a different Dunkirk logo. Both also have a base camo baked into the plane for looks but no bonuses. Here is an example:

very good observation SS...

I was too obsessed with the cgi to let my brain use logic

+1:medal:

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.
