Today we carry one with our BEST OF THE BESTEST event looking at the AWESOME Tier III PREMIUM FIGHTERS!!

In this group we have BIPLANES as well as some pretty unusual configurations and I will admit that there are a couple here that I don't have, But I am just EXCITED to be here talking planes stuffs!!! :great:

So, where does my vote go?!?

I am particularly fond of the Hawker P.V.3!!!

Ok, so obviously, this is a biplane (YAY BIPLANES!! :izmena:) and I understand they can be flown by reindeer :amazed:

Ok so we have BIPLANE, check.  We have flown by reindeer, check ... I mean what more could you want?  I mean what is performance without considering these critical factors ... (you mean it needs to fly and shoots stuff???  That's stoopid, I mean it's flown by a REINDEER for God's sake ... .... ).

Ok, moving on.  Despite these obvious advantages (forget about the flying riendeer, I have it on goodish authority that he's licensed.  Not sure what he's licensed in, but he has a license.  Yay Reindeer!!!) this plane really does handle well being bested in this category only by the nimble little Ki.33 and Ki 13.  What the P.V. brings to the table that the Ki's do not is a hefty dose of firepower with 4 machine guns.  She can zip, she can zoomy zoomm and she can shooter them up good.

Honestly, what's not to like (REINDEER remember?!!)??

Yes, it's haughty and its arrogant but you're a battleship with 16 inch guns and Britannia Rules the Waves.  Maybe a bit of arrogance in this case is appropriate.

I fly the Metallico a lot.  It can be a chore to go between caps, but it's just goofy fun with its old toy plane vibe.  I also enjoy flying Di-6i and YP-29

Specialist-qualified planes:

The P.V.3 is way OP at T3.  Which is why I like it.  :)

Polish P.38 and German Junkers 86E. Sure, biplanes are fun and games until you need to reach target @3k ft.

From biplanes, definetely Bk-534 - nobody expects 20mm gun on biplane at tier 3, managed to surprise a few people head-on shortly after patch.

Just an interesting fun fact concerning the P.V.3.  It was actually designed as a "fast" follow on to the very popular Hawker Fury fighter which would eventually form the design basis for the Hawker Hurricane.  The P.V.3 itself never entered production.

It's not exactly slow either.  It's all around very solid.

I was surprised to see the minimal hit to altitude, speed, and maneuverability caused by gaining that hub mounted 20mm.  Any other tier III fighters with a cannon like that?
