I'm looking to potentially add a tier 8 premium sniper down the road. I have and love the Me 109 TL, IL-10M, and P-80A but would like to add a sniper for another playstyle. I'm looking for something with gun handling comparable to a Yak-7 and better than that of the Bf 110C-6 or Ju 88P. I'd also prefer to avoid uncomfortable mixed armaments like the Me 109 TL has (bearable for a short-range brawler, but I don't want vastly differing shell trajectories on a long-range sniper).

I don't know which plane to choose between the BV P.203, I-260, Do 335 A-1, or Ho 229. I've looked at the stats, watched gameplay video, and read everything I could find on the forum for each of them. Now I'm curious what you guys think. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

For a pure sniper, nothing beats the Horten. Its gun handling is excellent and it's performance is superb and I have chosen to make it my Period 3 Mega-plane (a plane with 100% Special Project Equipment).

Best all-around though still falls to the Do335. The Pfeil is NOT a sniper though. It only has one gun and alone it doesn't actually deal as much damage as you'd expect from a Heavy Fighter. What makes the Pfeil so special is superb agility for a Heavy Fighter coupled with excellent climb and dive and a tier 9 bombload all of which make it an incredibly flexible airplane that's able to solo cap Missile Bases and Command Centers

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

What Spirit said.

I don't have the I260, but that plane doesn't have an escape the way the HO229 does (speed, acceleration, and altitude).  The mk103 of the ho hit hard and seem to have a good bit of aim assist.  Even so, I'll sometimes only hit with one of the two guns. If both hit, it will knock down a tier 8 mustang.  A quick look shows the mustang with 360 hitpoints and each mk103 round doing 140 damage.  So, that doesn't quite jibe with my anecdotal experience (or the target was wounded or I'd already hit him with 1 round or something).

The Bvp is either very slow or very unmaneuverable compared to what you'd get with the DO or Me262, depending on how you equip it. It has a tailgun, but it's weak and the plane doesn't really have an escape.  It's great at bomber killing and while it offers guns that work together, it does have mismatched guns.

The DO only carries half the snipe firepower of the HO, but is very fast and reasonsably agile, too, if you equip it with turn gear.  Part of this plane's strength is its bomb load. If you dont want to fiddle with bombing, you'll lose part of the advantage of this plane.

I run the HO with 10 seconds boost consumable and can stay with any HF long enough to kill it, particularly if it tries to fly straight and outrun the HO (which gives an easier shooting solution).

The HO is probably the best fit for what you ask, but idk where you'd get it, at this point, other than wait for it to comfortably show up in store.

I can only speak to the Horton, but I love flying mine.

It never occurred to me to do this to it.

Now that you have opened my eyes, I may just revisit how I have equipped this plane...

Edit an on-topic reply:

I fly my Do-335 fairly often.  It is my very favorite bomber escort plane, and when flighted up with a bomber pal, I use the bombs to soften up the capture area ahead of my guy getting there, then I keep the ADA off his back while he takes the cap.  I have found the single MK-103 to be excellent at taking out bombers from outside the range of their defensive guns.  I have knocked down many an RB-17 with it.  And Ju-288.  And Tu-10...

Its agility is also excellent for knocking off GAA.  Again, you can stay out of the range of the tail gun and just BnZ them to death.  The 30mm cannon lops off great big chunks of HP when you land those shells.
