Hi everyone!!  Biplane (noob) Girl here with another installment of Her Best of the BESTEST!!!  Tier II fighters.

In this analysis I'm not looking for cute little biplanes with even cutter small little bombs hung under the wing, Here were looking at the thoroughbreds of the sky, the single seat light fighters of TIER II !!!  YAY US!!! :honoring:

These masters of the sky are the next step on every pilots journey and we begin to start seeing the first of those low winged monoplanes arrive on the scene.  The battle capabilities of these aircraft now begin to differ and move into more narrowly defined goals.

So what's it going to be fellow pilots, which one do you pick as the BEST of the BESTEST!!!

While this will undoubtedly be a shock to many, my favorite fighter in this tier does not happen to be one of my beloved biplanes, but instead is one of those new fangled monoplanes, the XP-31

So, what makes this little monoplane such a little monster in the Tier II skies.  One word and its name is firepower!!!.  Even the I-15 can not compete with this planes raw destructive capabilities when chewing up T2 planes.  In other attributes, she's not the fastest nor does she turn the best, but she's not at the bottom of the barrel in those categories. What she is in all of those attributes is competitive and given the firepower she lugs around she really can dominate the skies she flies in.

So that's my two cents, what's yours :)  :great:

Yes, it's haughty and its arrogant but you're a battleship with 16 inch guns and Britannia Rules the Waves.  Maybe a bit of arrogance in this case is appropriate.

Where is the I-15?

Also, are you asking the best if the battle is against other T2s, or against T3s as we are uptiered quite often.  My choice would change given one of those considerations.

You missed my favorite T2 on your poll and the only thing I know of that's nastier than the XP-31.

The S.510

https://worldofwarplanes.com/warplanes/europe/spad510/

This little sucker -is- admittedly a mite slower than the XP-31 in theory (the 31 has the higher dive speed, the S.510 has the higher boost/cruise).. but its guns punch harder. It doesn't show on the wowplanes page, but in-game they have a bigger thump of cumulative damage.

Well, the I-15 is a multirole fighter so she'll be included in a post about multi-roles.  I was going to try to combine the two but the poll couldn't take that many planes so I decided to split them into their classifications.

What I am asking here is, of these T2 fighters, which one is overall the best, regardless of the individual situation it might find itself in a particular battle or the tiers of the planes it might be flying against.

AAhhhh I seeeeee.  My bad for not catching that.  In that case, the Ar-68.  Guns, alt, B&Z terror on all the turnie burnies, and it will give a tier III pause to reflect on its life as it lets loose on it.

Back in the Day the Bristol Bulldog would have gotten at least an honorable mention.  Sadly, 2.0 nerfed it.  Lots of good choices here but if I have to pick only one, the XP-31.

I like high turn deck fighters at slow speeds. Meaning the S.510 is dead center of my wheelhouse. I also love the XP-31 and the Bristol Bulldog, which I have in my hangar in specialist and is the best -not- premium T2 IMHO.

XP-31.  I have 5ish specialized T2's and the XP-31 makes me feel completely ashamed of myself at this point when I fly it.

Ar-67. It'll out-turn the XP-31 and it gets flaps. I think its one of only two planes at tier 2 that get flaps. Its also the plane I clubbed out resident racist sealclubber to death with so it too has a special place in my heart.

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

I am not qualified to vote, due to not flying most of the planes in question, but the XP-31 I have had some good games in, and the Stosser, OH the Stosser, you fun little freemium beauty.
