You're forcing me to expose my bomber lust.
perhaps it is for the best, so that I am shamed into moving on to another class..

Daily missions required ground targets. Plus I like to blow stuff up. And you see the Buffalo in the top ten.

Ok, ok. The Db 605 is a meta plane.
The Yak-3rd drives (and sounds) like an F-16.
I can't believe I've got that much time in the RB-17, but like someone else said, daily missions require ground targets. I try to do them in GA which I prefer, but bomber is faster to complete.
I flew that I-207/4 during some MR requirement that took a lot of time, but can't recall the event. It's a neat plane, but I'm sick of it and haven't touched it since that event over a year ago.
I love my Lavochkin planes.
FW-190? The only bearable Fucke Wolfe plane in the game. I'm angry that WG didn't implement it as an actual fighter. The whole MRF class is terrible. At least the FW got a guns equipment slot instead of a (useless) bomb slot. That said, I'd pay cash money for a ground attack premium Fw-190F; it would fit right in with the German tech tree ground attacker ideal.

While not necessarily a list of my favorites and I fly quite a few aircraft so any changes are a slow crawl, these are my 10 most played aircraft by flight time.

I don't know how to do them fancy pichers.
In order by hours:
Blenny bomber 532
RB-17 350
Ju 88 A 191
Do 17 Z 186
A-26B 174
Do 217M 170
B-32 161
Ar-2 . 56
SB 54
Pe-2 M-82 54
Some are in their position because they were first on the scene, others because I have trouble getting first win of the day with them, and others because I just find them way fun. I suppose the RB-17 fits several of those criteria plus just being a huge money maker.

"Don't mess with me because I can squish you like a bug, that is If I should decide to notice your existence in the first place".
Yes, it's haughty and its arrogant but you're a battleship with 16 inch guns and Britannia Rules the Waves. Maybe a bit of arrogance in this case is appropriate.

I could use some of your expertise with the XF-90
do you primarily just headhunt at high altitude?
or blow thru a furball and try to pick off someone, then run like hell?
Do you mess with GAs? or just heavies and bombers?

Ah, now that's an interesting question. I generally zip up and down vertically at about an 60 up and 90 down over a node. I prioritize bombers over GAA and actually mostly ignore my fellow heavies. Too much work for too little reward in my experience. That and the plane turns better in the vertical than the horizontal. In doing this, that means I end up diving back and forth through furballs -while- pursuing bombers and GAA and I've found that -usually- one good blat on those 20s will kill any light fighter or MRF and if it doesn't, I still get the assist and likely cripple them (I'm stacked for crits) making it impossible for them to follow me up or down. I don't run a purist speed -or- agility build either, though admittedly it -is- stacked more toward speed. It's a fun little plane and at 11 skill points in the pilot it goes from "fun" to "Who thought this was a good idea to give me?!?!?!". I still lawn dart and noob it far too frequently, but I vowed I'd teach myself it one way or another and I'm not at all bad in HFs and especially not this one. It's surprisingly more maneuverable than the stats would dictate.

i can now feather the power and the flaps sufficiently in the vertical to at least make a nuisance of myself
but it's exciting to fly, and i'll continue to work on it during every session i promise

Still moving up various tech tree lines and only to tier 5 so far, but here's my current.
Spit 1a by a long shot due to Skies of Albion which started just after I got it and a few other premiums with a code. But not so much lately.
Me109E - mostly recently and love that fighter
Spit 1 - why not?
Curtiss P40-105. Same as Spit 1a
I-17 - split in the tech tree means more flights
Yak-7 love that long range 37mm and she moves well enough too. Just fun.
Blenheim - first heavy and only recent but the difference over light fighters is fun
Lagg 3 - seems a good machine. Moving onto the La's
I-16 - pretty mobile little guy, but just on the way to elsewhere
P-36. Useful, but just a waypoint.

It isn't though and some of these planes I'd never have thought to put that much time into. Giving me second thoughts on various birds.

A rather embarrassing proportion of T3 & 4 in mine
Most of that is from my early period where my hangar was small and I played *2s on everything in it pretty much every day while progressing pretty slowly up only a couple of lines at a time.
These days I'm playing a lot less generally and my attention is split across a wider group of mostly high-tiers but I still do have to roll out some of those T3/4 for the Token missions...
Edit: by battles started its the same 10 planes, slightly different order
Skua 240
Hurricane I 208
Blenheim IV 201
A-26B 200
La-9 195
Beta plane 181
La-5 174
Beaufighter 158
Il-2 Mod 158
I-207/4 152

Fair warning. My success rate at speculative guesswork is on par with my WinRate. Hit or Miss.
I start on the right track and then sometimes make a weird left turn and get lost in the weeds ...
