Saw losttwo today, and we winned in a game where I was flying the most meh MRF ever - the Sea Hawk.  And yet, we still did pretty good.  Sorry about sucking, bro - we could have totally ROTFLstomped if I had been flying a good plane.  You guys carried me.

For the past week, I have felt less like the windshield than the bug.  Today I got to be the windshield.

I actually think I ran into Whom I believe was ebp_si in a specialized J7W1, they were on a team with a player Su-9 versus my specialized Vampire and one other player.

I get so focused on my surroundings and what I am doing in my vampire that many other details such as who i was playing with/against among other things becomes a blur (as is the case with the fact I cannot remember what plane the other human on my team was flying). Got some tight duels with ebp_si if that was indeed who I faced. If not, whomever it was I will say they flew quite well.

Hey NovaTempest-  yeah, that was me, and that battle was indeed memorable.  I seem to be the only one on here who picked the Japanese fighter line to grind only to find the multiroles suck when you hit tier 8.  That's my only tier 8, though, so I've had to make due to complete token missions.  I finally have enough equipment and pilot training to make it somewhat competitive.

I too have a J7W1 with specialization unlocked, I have yet to acquire it though. My plan is to get all 3 Shindens one of these days.

Ran into cobra_marksman and NovaTempest today while I was grinding my Ki 102. Nova is tricksy - he got me good.

Cobra was in a Dornier and we never crossed paths.  Both were really good battles. Lift one to the both of you. Cheers

Ran into hoom and hamhockjones. Hamhock immediately complained about "rigged games" as I blew him apart twice. He ought to thank hoom for the save. I didn't have much answer for his specialist Tu-1 while I was in my un-geared ki-88 with lower-point pilot.. Not real certain I'd have had an answer to it even in specialist with a 15 point ace at the stick. He's efficient in it and I salute him for that.

Bumped into hoom. Thanks for the carry. I haven't played the Mosquito in way too long

 Ran into hoom and hamhockjones.

First go in it after mostly spamming the F4U-1 for the weekend, it was a bit of a rough start but the big red whambulance arrived eventually :)

There were Ki-88s everywhere :amazed:

I actually didn't notice you at all in that battle :hiding: had to look back through some replays to find it.

Was my last battle with Ju-88P, won't miss it.

I only barely beat your score so can't call that a carry.

At about 5:58 is when badporkcutroberts complains about the game being rigged against him. That was the second or third time he'd died to me? Complained earlier about me setting him on fire as well. Thus I asked if he needed a waaahmbulance. Especially because _I_ knew better than to think the game was over.

Editing to add: For some reason, some people seem to give up when mitchell or I nail them a couple of times. Weirdly it's usually the supposed vets or good players.

Individually you're both quite beatable but you do make a really tough team.

What does surprise me is how many people will just bash themselves against the same guy who is clearly better/in a plane with significant advantage instead of just going elsewhere and doing what they can there.

Heck I was doing that in the first part of that battle.

I figured you had the Plant locked down in your turny fighter with altitude & big gun.

I was gunshy since didn't feel I could rely on my aim to blat you so was trying to dominate the outer caps (4 normal caps beats 1 plant).

Only came in & helped flip it after the bots (?) had it floating about 1/2 for a while and I'd got my aim in.

I'd lost my engine to a tail gunner just as you entered node. I -knew- I was hosed when you came in because it was the most imperfect timing possible and even had it not been? Again.. specialist and I can only assume decent air crew vs. non-specialist a tier down with a low skill pilot. I'm -good-, but that's not a small deficit to overcome in the first place. All it takes is -one- bit of luck to turn it from me -barely- having a chance to me tumbling through the air end over end as flaming wreckage. I commend -you- for actually realizing that, not coming in straight on, waiting for your opportunity, and most importantly.. doing something besides flying blindly into a blender in the meantime. I lost track of you in the melee of defense, lost an engine, and then you were there. You took advantage of all of it effectively, you waited til my flight partner was elsewhere and my bots had all also been sent elsewhere.. smart flying can level a lot of the playing field and timing is -literally- everything in aerial combat. I took out an EF-131 player twice in the same battle in my Yak-30 yesterday. How? Timing. I hovered just high enough that with full boost I could get in range and stay in range long enough to output his health worth of damage so long as I didn't miss. I didn't do this by chasing him though... I guessed where his path would take him and let him come to me. You waited til I was for sure engaged and hustled in.

I wish more players considered tactics as opposed to just aim.

I saw some fella that goes by desert786.
They were in their favorite (by far) Tier 9 MultiRole; the F-94D, for the weekend event.

At the time I vaguely recalled seeing them on the forum once or twice.
I figured that was why their name was familiar to me.
Spoiler

In any event they were being a bit troublesome and a win would have been nice; so I managed to shoot them down in my non spec Me 262.
And then got them once again when I flew through a furball over the center airfield while I was on my way to flip/defend another cap.
Spoiler

At which point in time the #3 player in the game decided the kid gloves were off.

Over the next few battles (Because low server pops means that MM saw fit to have me vs desert over and over and over AND OVER ) they saw to my destruction with a will.

I was too busy with trying to do my job ...

to keep track of what was happening.

Until ...

Desert racked up 24k+ points. In one game. :amazed:
Shooting down every other bot they could reach on my team. Twice.
But not me.
Oh no. I was on the wrong side of the kill cam on 4 separate occasions. :sceptic:

At which point, I felt that I had Persevered enough.  And that it was time for bed. :hiding:
Looking at my stats for the weekend, in that hour or so they were personally responsible for almost a third of the times i died in that Me 262.

So that was the 'highlight' of My weekend. :child:

How was yours?

Fair warning. My success rate at speculative guesswork is much like my WinRate. Hit or Miss.
Usually I start on the right track and then a make a weird left turn and get lost in the weeds ...
And yet it doesn't stop me from speculation.

I ran into #3 and #2 by win-rate ranking last night. I was in my B-32 (third flight since January in it, pilot was actually still re-training to it as I'd been experimenting with him in another plane) and Mitchell was in a Hornet (not specialist, no gear). They were both in specialists, didn't pay much attention to what exactly.. as I was still working rust out of my B-32 skills and running a very strange build on it anyway.. so I had my hands full trying to remember how to make a 1 maneuver plane dance.

He talks a lot when he's winning and is dead silent when he isn't......

Heard a lot of crickets when the bombs weren't exploding or my turrets weren't ripping off shots.

I've seen a lot of you around! I want to thank those of you here that even if I scored low you would message with a gg instead of the usual "leave this game and don't come back" I know I'm not a good player but I do the best I can. I only have one arm and very limited moment due to my Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Any way I apologize if you have typed to me and I didn't reply in flight it's because I can't...

I'll give you a GG right here,  I haven't seen you in game but if you're flyingwith one arm, you are at a disadvantage from the get go.  Keep at it,  adapt and overcome.

I did run across desert and deathnail, both in spec'd heavies.  I was running my SE100,  I doubt I even had to play as they were on my team.  There was no chat but they were both over 10k.

:honoring:  Keep on keepin' on!  I have gotten out of the habit of trying to battle chat.  My hunt and peck style just takes too long.  Also I have a growing suspicion that chat irritates the bugs.
