So, I think there are some other posts about this but I just wanted to start a new one to give a shout out.

When WG/Persha does something right, I want to give them credit for it.  The daily rewards are nothing spectacular, but it does give an incentive to play as many days in a week as possible.  For some of us, that is every day, for others, not so much.  Net/Net, it increases the incentive to play more and pays out in trinket equipment even if you do not play every day.  AND... those trinkets add up, believe me, they do over time.

I get that people who have to travel for a living or otherwise cannot play every day would be upset.  On the flip side, the rewards are not earth-shattering and the cost of missing a few days is not that great.

Overall, I would have to say this is a pretty well implemented reward system.

I did not create a poll, but I am not a fan of polls, are you?  Maybe I will create a poll to see who of us like polls...

I agree with what you have said Bobby. A daily reward with a bigger reward at the end of the week is a step forward.

Putting things into perspective, however, I also agree with what you said about it being a fairly small change. Something is usually better than nothing, correct?

The problem I have is that the bar is set so low, the expectations from the player side are set very low, so anything WG does seems overly positive on their behalf. Just being fair about things. So they give us a few new planes each month, they throw together events that are mostly made up of recycled materials and the events themselves again are similar to each other without a great deal of creativity or extra effort.

It all depends on how you look at things. If the expectation bar is set very low, then anything and everything they do seems like progress, seems like the game is getting better somehow. On the other hand, if you still have higher expectations of the game, then progress seems to be slogging forward, little by little but no real grand changes are happening, and still lots of bugs and technical flaws still proliferate.

So while I'm trying to be clear minded and not just all negative, yes there are some good things like new planes and daily rewards, but some of the key festering issues have not been addressed or fixed, and it seems to me that there is too much "same old, same old". So while I respect what you have said Bobby and agree with it, I'm not giving them any "attaboy's" or pats on the back until I see something that moves the dial.

Just my opinion.

Prenzlau

I like Poles and Romanians...

it's Klingons and Romulans that really piss me off

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

I agree with ya. I'm traveling every weekend this month, so I miss out on those weekend bonuses too, but it is what it is. The flip side is that I get to do some seriously cool stuff. Here's a shot from last weekend. I'm the guy in the Viking helmet.

Well, yes, completely understand.  That being said, the bar is very very low.

Think about it, before the 2.0 version, this game was the Walking Dead, a few hardy dogfighting stalwarts in a game where very minimal effort and support was being put into it.  Basically the only reason the game existed was to see if WG could recoup some of their losses before turning off the lights and doing something else.

Since then, WG has actually put effort and investment into this game, sure some of the stuff is just slapping a new coat of paint on something they've done before but some of it isn't.

This event is not necessarily targeted at the tier 10 players with 20,000 battles to their name.  Max 35,000 credits a week, a few parts and consumables and if you complete all 7 missions, you get a crate with goodies. What it's mostly designed for is to keep players, especially newer players coming back to the game on a regular to semi-regular basis.  The daily requirements have to be such that even a noobie has a good chance of meeting them and being rewarded and this system does that.

Me, being the bi-plane noob girl here, I think it's kind of neat.  35,000 credits just for logging in over the week, some other goodies I can pick up flying one mission a day (ok, sometimes two), and then just coz I've already logged on, maybe a couple more missions.  Point is, it keeps me coming back which is what the whole thing is designed to do.

On another note, I'm pleased to report that I haven't encountered "Barron Blackscreen" nor his side kick "Sideways Flying Plane" recently which kind of tells me that WG is putting effort into stabilizing the platform and getting it to run more reliably.  That's made the game much more enjoyable for me.  It's not perfect, what I seem to see nowadays is more the system "hanging" while loading a battle or leaving one.  Also had a slow loading issue where my plan flew entirely from the spawn point to the barrier on the opposite side of the map before I could get control of it. But honest, that's small beans compared to the mess this system was just a few months ago.

So yes, nice job WG, you are indeed making progress. :honoring:

"Don't mess with me because I can squish you like a bug, that is If I should decide to notice your existence in the first place".

Yes, it's haughty and its arrogant but you're a battleship with 16 inch guns and Britannia Rules the Waves.  Maybe a bit of arrogance in this case is appropriate.

Well I got 3 days premium and a T2 premium plane from 2 weeks, its far from minor.

Even if I get a bunch of lesser crates in future weeks its all going to stack up over time.

I do fear that on top of the 'daily' token missions, ongoing weekend specials & frequent Events its another step towards over doing it so there are so overwhelmingly many specials, events & missions it becomes offputting.

C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas le SerB.

Persha studios: No, we are not returning anniversaries just yet.

Also Persha: We spent weeks and tons of money in manpower to developed a whole new system to incentivize daily play with rewards.

Players:

I can see your point.  On the flip side, for those players who have yet to reach T8+, it's a way to earn some goodies within their current skill level.

The other things like the specials and events are pretty unique while the daily bonus is a reward for adding to the population.  I can see that for a newer player who is like:  "everything is geared toward the veterans" it adds an incentive to get in the game and maybe specialize that T3/T4/T5 plane with equipment/credits earned in these daily bonuses.

Lol, broken planes.

I beat Prinzfrau's teams fairly regularly. Sometimes he wins. It just depends on whether my team is full of potatoes or not and whether I derp it up myself. (I'm getting better at not tunnel visioning)

Prinz's real strength is that he gets superior players to flight with him. Its an intelligent choice on his part and I salute the people who carry him to victory time and again.

For every game like that there are probably 99 others where there is no competition.  literally fly straight and click all day long.

Based on that theory, every bomber pilot should be running near 100% efficiency. Yet.. -none- of us have an efficiency that high. A few of us are at or above 30% and that's about as high as it goes.

I've run into you in a bomber before though.... and you really -do- follow that theory.. so taking you out is -actually- easier than killing a bot because you're that bad at bombers... Your opinion on what bombers are capable of is rendered invalid by your theory of their flight usage. lol...

I dub thee... Sir Marsis_Irrelevant.
