With the new bot controls, does it help or hurt our team?  I feel guilty when hitting the ‘Requesting support’ button to see a bot shifting from an important tactical objective to (under)-mine.

The ‘Requesting support’ doesn’t select aircraft that can support.  Which planes support the player’s plane and objective?  If I were to fly a high-alt craft, an equally high-altitude-proficient plane may not be appropriated.

Are bots now a way to focus fire?  Can a flight focus a single player?

On the other hand, some of my bot supporters have been crackingly helpful.

In the end, is this an extension of the RNG?

I think it's still up in the air as to whether or not it is helpful.  I know I have come to regret, at times, that 'supporter' bot that dies easily.  Maybe it is RNG in the sense that it seems to be luck of the draw.

If you see a flight, they are not bots.  You will sometimes see bots offer to flight up with player...the little indian givers.  But, bots don't flight up.  If I'm understanding your question, correctly.  And, yes. Human players in a flight can most definitely focus a single target.

I was in a bomber and called for help F7 and had a multirole answer.  I was near red altitude and had a bot heavy fighter climbing up harrasing me. The MR wasn't the best choice, but I dove down towards him and it engaged the HF chasing me.   In another match in a bomber, I did the same and had an HF respond (more helpful).

I try to pull an extra bot toward the Military Base or Command Center at the start of the match.

If you get a bot to come to your aid and you're afraid it will die and give the enemy capture points, just attack whatever is aiming at him, use him as bait, essentially.

^^ That.  I personally am pleased with the bot response to my key presses.

Every time I target a plane the bot that responds is about to get shot by the targeted instead of those that can help.. I have watched many like this too.. The bot to respond is to far or getting shot up.

I use it depending on the match

I do not sit there and tap away all day at various commands.

I have gone all match with no commands and allowed the bots to handle their programming and win

On the flip side. I have matches where I could have won if I had use the commands.

And Yes I have had little success with the commands.

I'm afraid that I'm jamming up battle chat with my requests

I wish the request responses appeared in flight chat instead of team chat

I want to leave team chat for important stuff

Funny story:

Flying a bomber and notice an enemy heavy a ways out heading in my direction.  I know it is coming for me so I hit F7.  A close by bot teammate acknowledges.  There was no other enemy plane around so it was unmistakable what plane was coming for me.  The bot, instead of attacking the heavy, just pulls in behind me as I am trying to boost away so the bot has more time to attack, and he follows me.  Maybe they are protecting me by putting them self between me and my attacker.  The heavy was not in firing range at the time but because the bot never really did attack him, when he was in range he ended up taking me out.  So now I no longer rely on any bot support.

It would help a lot if you could select the type of plane to respond.  I learned from sad experience when attacking a mining plant and a Japanese fighter responded to my request for support.  All he could do was provide cannon fodder for the AAA and aid the enemy with his death in the zone.  I no longer request support.

It was a 109e that responded to me and I specifically dropped altitude to make it easier for him.

I have had mixed results.  F7 has been spotty.  F4 has been a go-to.  I tell a bot to attack whomever, and while that red plane is tied up either attacking or defending, I take my shots.  F2 at the beginning to get a bot going in the right direction.  Sometimes helps, but that one is better in the middle, where I can direct a bot toward a particular cap, if for no other reason than to distract whatever is there while I do work.

I do, every now and then when I'm all alone in a sector that needs defenders.

Only on accident when I mean to hit F2 or F4.  ;)

It would be nice if they added the key commands to the team/map screen when you press tab, like in WOWS. Would be handy when I don't remember the commands... most of the time.
