Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. :sceptic:

edit: Forgive me for no being mature enough to be blinded by naive optimism when patch after patch, year after year, the game fails to deliver even the basics of what the players need. Pardon me for looking out for the interests of the players.

The game and forum will receive a positive response from me when the devs add something to the game the players have requested in a way that fulfills the player's wishes, instead of changing the damn SOUND every...single....damn patch.

As a member of the old guard, your opinion is meaningless.  Obviously.  [eyeroll]

With every new iteration past 1.4, WG has gone further away from what 1.4 players wanted.  But they didn't go toward what new players wanted, either.  OK, sure, the PvE aspect added something new and interesting, and I get that some folks can't deal with that.  But the shrinking player base tells us that something is fundamentally wrong with WG's approach to this particular part of their trilogy.  Already, the 3D nature of air combat made this particular property have a steeper learning curve, and even dumbing down the flight physics didn't really change that much.  I have to think that the amount of time spent "fixing" the balance issues wrought by the flight model simplification is a wash in overall development time.

I have enjoyed the new content, but have difficulty understanding the work put in on that without really any work done on the obvious and oft-reported bugs.  I even think that if they said "hey, pilots, we're not going to be introducing any new content for a while - we want to straighten out  the kinks that have developed along the way first", most pilots would cheer about that, and accept no new content for a while.  As a sop to "new stuff", bring back plane anniversaries, or have 5x weekends, or 5x salvage days, or something where no new coding has to be done, just change a multiplier here and there, and call it good for two weeks.  You could buy six months by just offering fun rewards for just playing.  During that six months, you figure out the bugs, work them out, and roll out mini patches to fix them.  Bring people back who quit because of bugs, and hold steady at player population.

I dunno.  Maybe what I'm suggesting is too complex, or difficult to administer.  The thought process in WeeGee land is inscrutable.

I'll be the first to admit, when 2.0 dropped I initially hated it. Then I got used to how things were different and I enjoyed the different pace of things. There definitely  was more action in conquest, more stuff to do. But 2.0 just isn't appealing in the long run. Sure it's fun for awhile, but then all of the game's problems come down on you and the shallowness of it all doesn't let you reach higher. The greatest fault of WOWP from alpha to now is that the game has potential. It isn't great, but it could be great. And it would see there would be no limit to how great it could be.

By personality I'm inherently an idealist (and a realist simultaneously). I see how fun the game could be but also how unfun it is and probably forever shall be.

Believing the players have any chance of affecting this outcome is foolish. I've seen first hand many times just how futile it is. If you want to improve this game, you're better off making a game of your very own.

As long as Persha and WG are in charge, I am afraid you are correct.

Because making "Good" videos is a full time job. and the definition of a low pay yet high skill labor. Ask Magus..
Writing, Video capture, the Editing of both, AND having a face for Radio in one package is hard to come by.
that still comes out to almost 20 man-hours for an hour of video.

Just checking prenzlaus latest poll wherein he asks "Bombing. On a scale of 1(mindless) to 5 (impossible) just how hard can it really be?"
Its up to 3 pages pf responses in a day or so and no one really agrees enough on anything you could call a General Purpose Bomber Doctrines  beyond ...
"you can do alot of stuff in a bomber with a well armed 12 point gunner" ..
"there are alot of things that you need to do all at the same time. of those things what is most important varies for one second to the next"
also
"HA great Troll/Poll!  Bombers are the useless windo licking scumbag clickers of WarPlanes. like Artillery in WoT and Carriers in WoWs. Ban them already"

Ask  any video maker here how watchable that 10 minute video is...

Not do discount what others go through playing the forum game...

Spoiler

Thanfully bombers can never be the arty of wowp because the chance of being killed by them or one-slotted is extremely low.  The closest we got was when the RB-17 came out.  I’ve played over 27k tank games and the whiners in wot have all but nerfed arty...they are well on their way to ruining the game

I haven't really read too many posts by WylleCoyote, so can't comment - he's at least not a trouble maker so that's a good start!

That is probably for the best.  I have an unfortunate tendency to use ten words when three would be adequate.

Fair warning. My success rate at speculative guesswork is very hit or miss. Usually I start on the right track and then a make a weird left turn and get lost in the weeds ...
And yet it doesn't stop me from speculation.
