Got this beautiful bird the first day she came out and I must say that I'm not disappointed.  There's a few errors I made; going in I assumed she was a heavy fighter and just did not notice the signs pointing to her actual class as a light fighter.  She's very much like a tier VIII Bf.109B in how she handles in flight.  Her guns are interesting, being a pair of 30mm MK103s.  I find them much easier to use than the Me.163...er... J8M Shusui's 30mm MK108 knockoffs; you just have to engage at long range to make up for her lower rate of fire.

The Horten excels at bomber elimination and tangles well against heavy fighters.  Stay away from engagements with enemy light fighters.  The Horten is a huge target at close range for their MGs and with the Horten's speed there's no reason you should stick around and dogfight.

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

Yuuuup.  One 35$ package with 150 in it and one more package with 100 will net you the plane with 1 Certificate left over.  For some reason they didn't sell a package singly that would cover the whole thing.

Congrats great review , years waiting  for this bird now you have it , the only problem of the plane is the turn ,but almost for sure Wg will fix it , the rest of the plane is great so if you fly in pairs with a good wingman with a good figher , ga or bomber , it would be a great combination and many hours of fun with the ho 229 horten for sure godd hunting gg

I'd love to read horten reports from fair-to-middling pilots like myself

I love the ballistics of the 103s but I'm suckered into turn fights too often

I can fly all tiers of 109s reasonably well, should I expect 109 flight characteristics?

Very very similar.  Basically don't turn fight anything that you wouldn't using the Me.209A, and even then think twice about it if your target isn't alone...because the Horten is a HUGE target and doesn't stand up to taking damage well without the heavy fighter class hitpoint pool and resistance to critical damage.

She's an excellent bully aircraft.  Use her to eliminate targets that can't effectively fight back, like bombers and heavies at high altitude.  Only engage enemy lights that you outclass and catch alone.  This is not an aircraft to gamble in; focus on the guaranteed outcomes.  :playing:

So, I now see a "Legendary Bundle" for the Horton @ 250 certificates. This also applies??

I just don't want to spend the dollars and have it be the wrong thing. (I don't have the time to put in the grind with work schedule and family)

Thanks,

249 Certificates total to get her.

So yeah, you can score her by buying the Legendary Pack and nothing else.

Not fully understanding.

Its praises are sung, just don't get it in any danger.

It's for bullying aircraft that are lesser, or that fly like whales, or that are almost dead anyway, as long as there is not another aircraft close to it.

So it's great to fly as long as no one is really depending on it to take any chances, and avails itself only to perfectly safe situations.

Horten Ho.229 battle music.  Nightmare Moon the Lunar Queen by Jyc Row

Don't judge me; it's an awesome piece of music.
