1. The scale of the map is 2 km the smallest.

It was possible to make it 1 km or smaller before and use it as radar.

Now it's mostly useless as radar, making it harder to fly with a joystick, that have limited view.

2. The size of the map cannot be changed anymore. But I don't really care for it.

I'm in the USA and I have spent 61 years refusing to learn the metric system because it makes too much sense. We like to be out of step with the

rest of the world because....Murica! :(

And Wargaming doesn't care that you don't care.:P

Have you tied the keyboard keys?

zero and nine ( not the numb pad keys ) and the plus and minus ( again not the numb pad keys )

Can't remember which does which but they change the size of radar and range.

Truthfully I wish they would give us the option to do away with the radar.

Sometime ago that crap of the minimap scale bother me a lot, the solution is quite simple:
Gain control of the mouse cursor pressing Ctrl key and then use the + and -  over the minimap to resize it.

Hope this solve your problem (if I doidn't missunderstood all)

It does not solve anything. + and - don't work, they were working before, and they might work now on higher resolution screens. Size of the minimap does not change the scale.

The scale change with 0 and 9 buttons - it does work, I can make it 2, 4 or 6 km.

The scale on the minimap is still too big. The smallest scale on medium maps is 2 km, on big maps 2.5 and on small maps is 1.5 km.

It is too big to use it as radar, because I would prefer settings 1 km and 700 meters, so I could see the planes close to me, not a whole map or whole base where bunch of planes are mixed together. It was like that before, I could change it to 800 meters or something, now it does not work like that.

Since update 2.0.12 visible area on the Radar now covers 4500 / 3000 / 1500 meters for Tiers I-IV, 6000 / 4000 / 2000m for Tiers V-VII and 7500 / 5000 / 2500m for Tiers VIII-X. A circle visible on the radar when Alt is pressed represents average distance of enemy detection for the aircraft Tier. If an enemy is inside that circle it most probably can see the player's aircraft as well.

Also please check your settings to make sure you use correct keys for changing radar size. By default, they are as follows:

Well, to me this "update" nerfed the radar. And I consider it a bug.

Bring back the radar.  Bring back the target camera.  Bring back the square minimap.

How many frickin' steps backwards do you people need to make before you figure out your going the wrong direction??

Also, the map and mini map, as they are, have numerous bugs with not updating, static planes, etc.
