As you know, tomorrow the Tier VII-X Russian Bombers will be revealed in all their glory with their stats plain(no pun intended) for everyone to see.

I want to know what you think of them and if you think it's a good continuation, in particular if the Tier X is, of the current line of Russian Bombers.

This thread will be open even after Red Comet ends, for people to post reviews and gameplay videos of them here.

I'm particularly interested on how that Tier X turns out, but I want your opinion on all of them. No poll yet, as obviously they aren't here yet, but when they are I will add a Poll to this thread.

Regards, Legoboy0401

ok

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

Have been looking at some historical stuff, bit unconvinced based on historical stats.

T7 Tu-2 should be OK I guess

T8 Tu-10 is essentially Tu-1 as a bomber, slower with lower ceiling than Ju288C & no defensive firepower improvement over the Tu-2 (compare with RB-17 which is 800km/h with a 23mm tailgun)

T9 Tu-12 is a jet engined version, topspeed is still under 800km/h, still no defensive firepower improvement

T10 Su-10 is a bit faster, about 850km/h but that is pretty slow for T10, has 2* twin 20mm turrets, one tail other dorsal -> probably not much use unless flown low.

Will the bombloads follow the Pe-2s with a small number of big bombs or go RB-17ish with several smaller sticks?

We know the Su-10's bombload. If I remember correctly from reading it on the teaser for Red Comet it will be 8 500 kg bombs.

Will -not- be buying any of these out of the gate. May just wait until they are tech tree actually. Depends on what the op-ords look like.

No need to speculate. Numbers are up on the site

The bomb loads will be the issue.  They were small in the T3-6 area and continue to be small in the T7-10.  What saves the 287 is the 1000lb bomb.  USSR doesn't get that.

The tier X Su10 has a bigger bombload than the EF131

So Tu-10 & 12 get 20mm defensive guns, 650 & 810km/h topspeeds.

Tu-2 & 10 get 4* FAB 250 but different model than Pe-2s, presumably bigger bangs?

Tu-12 has 4* FAB 500.

Tu-2 & 10 continue the low altitude caps with 1800 & 1900m but there is a solid bump to 2400 for Tu-12 & 2500 for Su-10 still well below their German tier equivalents though.

Relatively agile but still less than Heavies, I really don't buy the idea of taking down Heavies with them.

Meh. Call me when they introduce the alternative Ilyushin medium bomber line.

Tu-2 gets an additional 600 damage bump up from the Peshka 82 from 4400 to 5000 per bomb

I'm impressed by the bot usage of them.
