So as it says I am a CBT player, but I haven't played this game in a long time since what happened when the game first released. I just couldn't stand what WG did to the flight system, but as I decided to rear my ugly face in the game's direction again I was pleasantly surprised that the flight system had more or less been restored. so I'm playing world of warplanes charging straight up the J7W line still getting a feel for the game again. Alas, I will greet my fellow pilots and say Hey, how you doing guys.:honoring:

Some of us 1.9ers stayed and are relearning the game but it's a new game basically.

Glad to see more back.

Yeah  having the boosts that have been sitting on my account for a long time are helping charge through the line, but encountering Spitfires in my A6Ms are being problematic consider the game says that have about 10 points less than the zeros in maneuverability, but I keep finding myself losing to them in turn battles.

Spitfires turn faster in the horizontal than any other axis. The overall maneuverability doesn't indicate that difference. So the raw #s trick you. If you click on maneuverability for each plane though, you can read the more in-depth stats

I got the premium spit a month ago and love it but my a6m3 exp zero will take it.

It all depends on what you have done on the plane, spits can supposedly out turn anything and I have a few and i have also got in turn fights and beat them.

Try all the planes you thought were not good before, you may be surprised.

I have been surprising myself the last few days with some planes I have only 5 battles on since 1.4

the game is great

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

Welcome back

So my first question here is - did those Spits have little wings around their icons? Because if they did, you have to be aware they probably turn better than you do at all but the lowest speeds - a fully "Specialized" Spitfire has an 7.5s turn time (compared to the Zero's 7.9s Stock) on top of being faster and having better altitude compared to the Zero.

If they don't have those little wings, then they might be using their manual control inputs to get that little extra against you.

Either way, your best bet is to abuse the Zero's ridiculously low stall speed and just hit the brakes and yank your nose around as violently as possible to bleed off speed. Use manual flaps, manual elevator, manual rudder and manual airbrakes.... (basically, practice your manual controls)... and force the Spit to either stall out or overshoot. The Spit might turn almost as well as you do at higher speeds but he stalls at 120kph. The Zero stalls at 90kph. You can fly slower and keep your controls better than he can so you can easily outmaneuver him in a low-energy fight.

dont forget the throttle. air brakes flaps etc are nice and all, but getting your airspeed set to 100kph when inside a furball goes a long way toward keeping it simple.

Fair warning. My success rate at speculative guesswork is very hit or miss. Usually I start on the right track and then a make a weird left turn and get lost in the weeds ...
And yet it doesn't stop me from speculation.

Yeah at this point I'm having issues trying to get the Doolittle achievement with my Ju 88 A the best I've gotten so far is 250 cap points out of the 400 needed, doesn't help that the High altitude AA rips me apart more than any heavy fighter or regular.

Take her up to the redline (about 3000+m). You can actually fly above the Flak like so:

The rub is that the maximum Flak ceiling gets higher each tier so if you're downtiered (meaning the Flak is a tier higher), you'll have trouble flying above it. I can't remember the exact ceilings of each tier.
